  • Page 16: Programmes You can find an overview of the programmes that can be selected here. Different programmes are available depending on the appliance configuration. The running time may vary depending on the programme selected. The running time depends on the water temperature, the quantity of tableware, the level of soiling, and the additional function selected. The consumption values can be found in the quick reference guide. The consumption values relate to normal conditions and a water hardness of 9 - 20 °E. Programme sequence includes various options for different types of tableware and levels of soiling. Intensive programme is suitable for pots and pans, non-fragile tableware, and cutlery with stubborn food remnants. Sensor-controlled programme optimizes cleaning based on the soiling of the washing water. Eco programme is the most economical option for mixed tableware and cutlery.
  • Page 17: Programmes include various settings for cleaning tableware, with specific temperatures and sequences outlined. The cleaning programme operates at 65 °C, featuring an intermediate rinse and a final rinse at 69 °C. Machine care is also a key programme, ensuring the appliance remains in good condition. The Eco 50 ° programme has a longer running time due to extended soaking and drying, optimizing consumption values. The pre-rinse programme is factory-set and suitable for all types of tableware, involving intermediate cleaning through cold rinsing. Users can download additional programmes via the Home Connect app and save them to the appliance. Information for test institutes is provided for conducting comparability tests according to EN60436. To reset to the factory pre-rinse programme, users can utilize the Home Connect app or reset the appliance settings. The product number and production number are necessary for requests related to the appliance. Users can save a combination of a programme and an additional function to the Favourite button through the Home Connect app.
  • Page 18: Additional functions You can find an overview of the additional functions that can be selected here. Different additional functions are available depending on the appliance configuration. You can select certain additional functions depending on the programme. IntensiveZone Switch on with mixed loads containing tableware with different soiling levels. The spray pressure in the bottom basket is increased and the maximum programme temperature maintained longer. VarioSpeedPlus The run time is shortened by 15% to 75% depending on the rinse programme. Energy and water consumption are increased. Top basket Arrange cups, glasses and small items of tableware in the top basket. You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here.
  • Page 19: Features You can adjust the height of the top basket to make room for larger items of tableware. Use the cutlery shelf and space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of cutlery. To wash large items of tableware in the baskets, adjust the shelf position of the top basket. Pull out the top basket. To prevent the basket from suddenly dropping down, hold the side of the basket by the top edge. Press in the levers on the right and left on the outside of the basket. If you do not need the cutlery shelf, you can fold it up. Arrange pans and plates in the bottom basket. Large plates up to a diameter of 31 cm can be arranged in the bottom basket. Check that the basket is level on both sides.
  • Page 20: Features Use the folding prongs to position tableware securely, e.g. plates. The prongs audibly click into position. Arrange cutlery in the cutlery drawer. You can fold the prongs down to position pans, bowls, and glasses better. If you do not need the prongs, fold them down. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges downwards.
  • Page 21: Features Use the glassZone in the top basket to clean all types of glasses gently yet thoroughly. Set the slider to ON. Clean under running water. Place the glassZone in the top basket and lock in position. Consumption will increase if you operate your appliance with the glassZone switched on. Check that the mounts are in the correct position. The glassZone audibly clicks into position. Always operate the appliance with the glassZone fitted. Limescale and soiling from the dishwashing water can block the nozzles.
  • Page 22: Before using for the first time, start the programme with the highest cleaning temperature without tableware. To remove any marks from water or other residues, operate the appliance without tableware before first use. On initial start-up or after a reset to factory settings, you will need to make settings. You can change these settings and other basic settings at any time. Connect your appliance to a mobile device to conveniently change all settings via the Home Connect app. Hard water leaves limescale on tableware and parts of the appliance may become blocked. To ensure good dishwashing results, treat the water with special salt and the water softening system. Water with a hardness above 9 °E must be softened to avoid damage to the appliance. Add special salt, rinse aid, and switch on the appliance to set up the water softening system. You can find an overview of the water hardness values that can be selected here.
  • Page 23: Water softening system You can use special salt to soften water. If the special salt refill indicator lights up, add special salt to the dispenser just before the programme starts. The consumption of special salt depends on the water hardness. With a water hardness of 0 - 8 °E you can dispense with special salt for dishwashers and switch off the water softening system. Detergent may damage the water softening system. Only fill the dispenser of the water softening system with special dishwasher salt. Set the water hardness on your appliance. To make sure that any special salt that escapes is washed out of the tub, add the special salt to the dispenser immediately before the programme starts. Determine the water hardness and the appropriate setting value. The factory setting is level 1.
  • Page 24: Water softening system The water hardness is 0 - 8 °E. You do not need to use special salt. Do not use salt tablets. Do not use table salt. To open the appliance settings, press. Add the special salt to the dispenser. The water softening system is switched off and the salt refill indicator is deactivated. Regeneration of the water softening system takes place before the end of the main rinse cycle in all programmes. If you find the special salt refill indicator irritating, you can switch the indicator off. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system in specific cases. Combined detergents with salt replacement substances can generally only be used up to a water hardness of 26 °E without adding special salt.
  • Page 25: Rinse aid system Add rinse aid up to the max mark. The consumption values specified are laboratory measurements determined in accordance with the currently applicable standard using the Eco 50° programme. If rinse aid spills out, remove it from the tub. Spilled rinse aid can cause excessive frothing during the wash cycle. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. Close the lid of the dispenser for rinse aid. The lid clicks into position. If the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, top up with rinse aid. If there are streaks or water marks on tableware, change the amount of rinse aid.
  • Page 26: Detergent Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers. Both separate and combined detergents are suitable. For optimum washing and drying results, use separate detergent, adding special salt and rinse aid separately. Modern, powerful detergents mainly use a low-alkaline formulation with enzymes. The factory setting is level 2. A low setting adds less rinse aid during the wash cycle and reduces streaking on tableware. A higher setting adds more rinse aid during the wash cycle, reduces water marks, and improves the drying result. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent. Suitable detergents are available online or from customer service. If you find the rinse aid refill indicator irritating, you can switch the rinse aid system off. Tabs are suitable for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out.
  • Page 27: Detergent recommendations include using special salt and rinse aid for optimal washing and drying results. Liquid detergent is preferred for shorter programmes without PreRinse. It is important to avoid using hand washing-up liquid as it can cause increased frothing and damage the appliance. Separate detergents should not contain any components other than detergent. Chlorine residue on tableware poses a health risk. Dosage of powder and liquid detergent can be adjusted based on the level of soiling. Organic or ecological detergents may have a restricted cleaning effect due to lower active agent levels. Combined detergents contain additional functions but are generally effective only up to a water hardness of 26 °E. For best results, set the rinse aid and water softening system according to the detergent in use.
  • Page 28: Tableware Damage to glass and tableware Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if it is marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid damage to glass and tableware. Do not put aluminium parts in the dishwasher interior. Select a programme with lower temperatures. After the programme has ended, take glassware and cutlery out of the appliance without delay. Arrange tableware correctly to optimise the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both the appliance and tableware. Using the appliance allows you to save energy and water compared to washing-up by hand. To save energy and water, load the machine with the number of place settings specified. Use a detergent marked by the manufacturer as gentle on tableware.
  • Page 29: For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle so water can run off. Remove large remnants of food from tableware. Hot tableware can cause burns to the skin. When the programme has ended, do not empty the appliance until the tableware has cooled down for a while. To save resources, do not pre-rinse tableware under running water. Put heavily soiled tableware in the bottom basket, e.g. pans. To prevent damage to tableware, arrange it so it is stable and cannot tip over. Unload tableware starting at the bottom and working up to prevent water dripping on it. Check the washing tank and accessories for soiling and clean if necessary. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges facing down to prevent injury.
  • Page 30: The Eco 50° programme is especially environmentally friendly and ideal for normally soiled tableware. It is the most efficient programme for the combination of energy/water consumption for this type of tableware. If you do not perform any actions on the appliance for 10 minutes, the appliance will automatically switch off. You can delay the start of the programme via the Home Connect app. To adjust the washing programme to the soiling level of the tableware, select a suitable programme. You can set additional functions to complete the washing programme selected. The appliance switches off automatically 1 minute after the end of the programme to save energy. When you open the appliance door once the appliance has heated up, leave the door slightly ajar for a few minutes and then close it.
  • Page 31: Operation will help prevent excess pressure building up in the appliance and stop the appliance door bursting open. To end a programme early or to switch from a programme that has already started, you will need to cancel it first. Press for approx. 4 seconds. All displays light up. As soon as the displays are off, the residual water is pumped out. The programme is cancelled and ends after approx. 1 minute. Please note the information on safe use. If you press during the wash cycle, the programme currently running will be interrupted. When you switch the appliance back on, the programme continues automatically.
  • Page 32: Basic settings allow you to configure your appliance to meet your needs. The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. You can set the water hardness and the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed or switch it off. Extra Dry can be switched on or off for each operation to improve drying results. The temperature in the final rinse is increased for better drying, which may slightly increase running time. Care should be taken with delicate tableware when using Extra Dry.
