  • Page 17: Additional functions are available depending on the appliance configuration. The programme and the additional function are saved. For a better drying result, the final rinse temperature is increased and the drying phase extended. The additional function is especially suitable for drying plastic parts. There is a slight increase in energy consumption and the run time is extended. To reset the programme, reset your appliance back to the factory settings. You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here. The run time is shortened by 15% to 75% depending on the rinse programme. Energy and water consumption are increased when using the additional function. It is recommended to add less detergent to the detergent dispenser than for a full machine load.
  • Page 18: Features Adjusting top basket with side levers To wash large items of tableware in the baskets, adjust the shelf position of the top basket. Arrange pans and plates in the bottom basket. Pull out the top basket. To prevent the basket from suddenly dropping down, hold the side of the basket by the top edge. Press in the levers on the right and left on the outside of the basket. Large plates up to a diameter of 31 cm can be arranged in the bottom basket as shown. Raise or lower the basket evenly to the right level. Arrange cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Check that the basket is level on both sides.
  • Page 19: Features If you do not need the prongs, fold them down. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges downwards. Use the cutlery shelf and space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of cutlery. To use the prongs again, fold them back up. The prongs audibly click into position. If you do not need the cutlery shelf, you can fold it up. Use the folding prongs to position tableware securely. You can fold the prongs down to position pans, bowls, and glasses better.
  • Page 20: Before using for the first time, set the baskets at the right height. The appliance height is 81.5 cm with the cutlery drawer. Start the programme with the highest cleaning temperature without tableware. To remove any marks from water or other residues, operate the appliance without tableware before using it for the first time. On initial start-up or after a reset to factory settings, you will need to make settings. The appliance must be installed and connected before initial configuration. To ensure good dishwashing results, treat the water with special salt and the water softening system. Water with a hardness above 9 °E must be softened to avoid damage to the appliance. You can find an overview of the water hardness values that can be selected. Find out how hard your water is from your local water company or by using a water hardness tester.
  • Page 21: Water softening system Water hardness °E ranges from soft to hard. Set the water hardness determined on your appliance. You can use special salt to soften water. With a water hardness of 0 - 8 °E, you can dispense with special salt. If the special salt refill indicator lights up, add special salt before the program starts. The consumption of special salt depends on the water hardness. Set the water hardness on your appliance. Only fill the dispenser with special dishwasher salt. To make sure that any special salt escapes is washed out, add it immediately before the program starts. The value H04 is set at the factory.
  • Page 22: Water softening system The water hardness is 0 - 8 °E. You do not need to use special salt. Do not use salt tablets. Do not use table salt. To open the basic settings, press for 3 seconds. The display shows Hxx. The water softening system is switched off and the salt refill indicator is deactivated. In order to obtain fault-free function of the water softening system, the appliance performs regeneration at regular intervals. Regeneration of the water softening system takes place before the end of the main rinse cycle in all programmes. If you find the special salt refill indicator irritating, you can switch the indicator off. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system in specific cases. Combined detergents with salt replacement substances can generally only be used up to a water hardness of 26 °E without adding special salt.
  • Page 23: Rinse aid system The consumption values specified are laboratory measurements determined in accordance with the currently applicable standard. Add rinse aid up to the max mark. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. If rinse aid spills out, remove it from the tub. Only use rinse aid for domestic dishwashers. If the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, top up with rinse aid. The lid clicks into position. If there are streaks or water marks on tableware, change the amount of rinse aid. A low setting adds less rinse aid during the wash cycle and reduces streaking on tableware. A higher setting adds more rinse aid during the wash cycle, reduces water marks, and improves the drying result.
  • Page 24: Detergent To save the settings, press for 3 seconds. Oxygen-based bleaching agents are generally used to remove coloured marks, e.g. tea or ketchup. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent. If you find the rinse aid refill indicator irritating, you can switch the rinse aid system off. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. You will generally get better results using rinse aid. Tabs are suitable for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter programmes. The dosage can be adjusted to the level of soiling. Liquid detergent works faster and is recommended for shorter programmes without PreRinse. Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers. Both separate and combined detergents are suitable. For optimum washing and drying results, use separate detergent, adding special salt and rinse aid separately.
  • Page 25: Detergent Separate detergents are products that do not contain components other than detergent. With powder and liquid detergent, the dosage can be individually adjusted to the level of soiling of the tableware. For better washing and drying results, please additionally use special salt and rinse aid. Do not use detergent which could cause damage to the appliance or present a risk to health. Hand washing-up liquid can cause increased frothing and damage the appliance. Combined detergents contain not only detergent but also rinse aid and salt replacement substances. Combined detergents generally only function up to a water hardness of 26 °E. Detergents marked as organic or ecological generally contain lower levels of active agents. Set the rinse aid and the water softening system to the separate detergent or combined detergent in use. To prevent sticking, only touch detergents in a water-soluble pouch with dry hands.
  • Page 26: The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. You will generally get better results using rinse aid. Use tablets with a special drying performance. To open the detergent dispenser, press the locking latch. Add the detergent to the dry detergent dispenser. The detergent dispenser will open automatically at the optimum time during the programme. In order to ensure that tablets can dissolve evenly, do not place any other objects in the tablet collecting tray. If you are using tablets, one is enough. Insert the tablets in a horizontal position. 20 ml – 25 ml detergent is sufficient for normal soiling. If tableware is only lightly soiled, slightly less than the amount of detergent specified is usually sufficient. Only clean tableware that is suitable for dishwashers.
  • Page 27: Tableware Damage to glass and tableware can occur if the water temperature of the programme is too high. Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if it is marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid damage to glass and tableware by taking glassware and cutlery out of the appliance without delay after the programme has ended. The following tableware is not dishwasher-safe: items made from wood, decorated glassware, antique and hand-crafted tableware, plastic parts not resistant to heat, tableware made from copper or tin, and tableware soiled with ash, wax, lubricating grease, or paint. Arrange tableware correctly to optimise the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both the appliance and tableware. Using the appliance allows you to save energy and water compared to washing-up by hand. For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle so water can run off. Use a detergent marked by the manufacturer as gentle on tableware to avoid damage. Highly caustic alkaline or highly acidic cleaning agents, particularly commercial or industrial cleaners, are not safe to use in the dishwasher with aluminium parts. Remove large remnants of food from tableware before placing them in the dishwasher.
  • Page 28: Basic operation To save resources, do not pre-rinse tableware under running water. WARNING: Hot tableware can cause burns to the skin. When the programme has ended, do not empty the appliance until the tableware has cooled down for a while. Put heavily soiled tableware in the bottom basket, e.g. pans. To prevent damage to tableware, arrange it so it is stable and cannot tip over. To prevent injury, arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges facing down. Position containers with the openings facing down so no water can collect in them. To prevent water dripping on the tableware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up. Check the washing tank and accessories for soiling and clean if necessary. The Eco 50° programme is set by default and is especially environmentally friendly.
  • Page 29: Basic operation Setting a programme To adjust the wash cycle to the soil- ing level of the tableware, select a suitable programme. The programme has ended when the display shows 0h:00m. If you want to add more tableware while the appliance is running, do not use the tablet collecting tray as a handle for the top basket. You can only change a programme when running if you can- cel it. You can set additional functions to complete the washing programme selected. The appliance switches off automatically 1 minute after the end of the programme to save energy. When you open the appliance door once the appliance has heated up, leave the door slightly ajar for a few minutes. You can delay the start of the programme by up to 24 hours. This activates timer programming.
  • Page 30: Basic operation Terminate programme To end a programme early or switch from a programme that has already started, you will need to cancel it first. Open the appliance door. Press for approx. 4 seconds. Close the appliance door. All displays light up. As soon as the displays are off, the display shows 0h:01m and the residual water is pumped out. The programme is cancelled and ends after approx. 1 minute. Switching off appliance Please note the information on Safe use. If you press during the wash cycle, the programme currently running will be interrupted.
  • Page 31: Basic settings can be configured to meet your needs. The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. Set the water softening system to your water hardness. • Page 32: Cleaning and servicing To keep your appliance working efficiently for a long time, it is important to clean and maintain it carefully. Open the appliance door. Press to access basic settings. The display shows Hxx. Using detergents containing chlorine may result in harm to health. Never use detergents containing chlorine. Remove any coarse soiling in the interior with a damp cloth. Add detergent to the detergent dispenser. Select the programme with the highest temperature. Start the programme without tableware.
  • Page 33: Cleaning and servicing Only use suitable cleaning products to clean your appliance. Follow the tips on appliance care to make sure your appliance functions properly at all times. Wipe the door seals, the front of the dishwasher, and the control panel regularly using a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. If the appliance is not going to be used for a while, leave the door slightly ajar. Deposits, e.g. from remnants of food and limescale, can cause your appliance to malfunction. To avoid such faults and reduce odours, we recommend cleaning your appliance at regular intervals. Machine Care combined with machine care products and machine cleaners is the right programme for the care of your appliance. Machine Care is a programme which removes various deposits in one washing cycle. To ensure optimum cleaning performance, the programme doses the detergents independently of each other during the relevant cleaning phase. Run Machine Care without tableware if the indicator for Machine Care lights up on the control panel.
  • Page 34: Cleaning and servicing Running machine care The filter system removes coarse soiling from the dishwashing cycle. Run the Machine Care programme without any tableware in the dishwasher. Only use machine care products and machine cleaners specially designed for dishwashers. Make sure that there are no aluminium parts in the interior of the appliance. If you have not run Machine Care after 3 washing cycles, the indicator for Machine Care will go out automatically. For optimum cleaning performance, ensure the correct placement of cleaners. Follow the safety instructions given on the packagings of the machine care products and machine cleaners. Soiling in the dishwashing water may block the filters. After each wash check the filters for residue.
  • Page 35: Cleaning and servicing Pull down the micro filter to re-insert the filter system into the appliance and turn the coarse filter clockwise. Make sure that the arrow markings match up. Press the locking catches together and lift the coarse filter out. Limescale and soiling in the dishwashing water may block the nozzles and bearings on the spray arms. Clean the spray arms regularly. • Page 42: Troubleshooting Detergent residue in the appliance may occur if tabs are used in a quick or short programme. Select a more intensive programme or use powder detergent. Washing effect and dissolving performance can be reduced after prolonged storage time or if detergent is lumpy. Water marks on plastic parts are due to droplet formation on surfaces. Select a more intensive programme, position tableware at an angle, use rinse aid, or set the water softening system higher. Wipeable or water-soluble coatings may be present inside the appliance or on the door and cannot generally be removed with chemicals. White coating can be deposited in the appliance interior; set the water softening system correctly and change your detergent if required. Ensure the special salt dispenser is screwed tight. Stubborn white coatings may be present on tableware and inside the appliance. The hardness range may be set incorrectly or the water hardness may exceed 62 °E; adjust the water softening system accordingly.
  • Page 43: Troubleshooting Stubborn white coatings are present on tableware, inside the appliance or the door. Increase the amount of detergent used. Washing programme selected too weak. Select a more intensive washing programme. Tea residue or lipstick marks on tableware. Select a programme with a higher washing temperature. Too little detergent is being used or is unsuitable. Use a suitable detergent and follow the manufacturer's instructions for the amount to be used. Tableware has been pre-cleaned too intensely. Only remove large remnants of food and do not prerinse tableware. Coloured coatings that are difficult or impossible to remove are present inside the appliance or on stainless steel tableware. Clean the appliance.
  • Page 44: Troubleshooting Coloured deposits (yellow, orange, brown) that are easy to remove are present inside the appliance. The formation of films is due to ingredients of food remnants and tap water (limescale). Check the setting of the water softening system. Add special salt. If you are using combined detergents (tabs), activate the water softening system. Discolouration can come about and plastic parts inside the appliance may become discoloured during the life of the dishwasher. Washing temperature is too low. Select a programme with a higher washing temperature. Only remove large remnants of food and do not prerinse tableware. Set the rinse aid system to a lower setting.
  • Page 45: Troubleshooting Irreversible clouding of glassware may occur if glasses are not dishwasher-proof. Use dishwasher-proof glasses and avoid a lengthy steam phase after the wash cycle ends. Set the softening system to the water hardness and use detergent with a glass protection component. Rust spots on cutlery can happen if cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant. Use rust-resistant tableware and do not wash rusting items together. High salt content in washing water can be addressed by removing any spilled special salt from the tub and ensuring the cap of the special salt dispenser is on tight. Detergent residue may be present if spray arms are blocked. Check that the spray arms can rotate freely. Only add detergent to a detergent dispenser when dry to avoid issues with detergent not rinsing out. Excessive formation of foam can occur if hand washing-up liquid is present in the rinse aid dispenser. Immediately add rinse aid to the dispenser if foam occurs and remove any spilled rinse aid with a cloth. Changing the brand of detergent may help if excessive foaming is caused by the detergent or appliance care product used.
