  • Page 17: Programmes You can find an overview of the programmes that can be selected here. Different programmes are available depending on the appliance configuration. The running time may vary depending on the programme selected. The running time depends on the water temperature, the quantity of tableware, the level of soiling, and the additional function selected. The consumption values can be found in the quick reference guide. The consumption values relate to normal conditions and a water hardness of 16 - 20 °E. Programme sequence includes various cleaning processes for different types of tableware. Intensive programme is for pots and pans, non-fragile tableware, and cutlery. Sensor-controlled programme optimizes cleaning based on the soiling of the washing water. Eco programme is the most economical option for mixed tableware and cutlery.
  • Page 18: Programmes Use Tableware: Cleaning 65 °C Intermediate rinse Final rinse 69 °C Dry Mixed tableware and cutlery Machine Care 70 °C The pre-rinse program is suitable for all types of tableware. You can use the Home Connect app to download additional programmes and save them to the button.

These features depend on the model of your appliance.
  • Page 21: Features Raise or lower the basket evenly to the right level. Arrange cups, glasses, and small items of tableware in the top basket. Check that the basket is level on both sides. You can adjust the height of the top basket to make room for larger items of tableware. Use the cutlery shelf and space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of cutlery. To wash large items of tableware in the baskets, adjust the shelf position of the top basket. To prevent the basket from suddenly dropping down, hold the side of the basket by the top edge. Press in the levers on the right and left on the outside of the basket. If you do not need the cutlery shelf, you can fold it up.
  • Page 22: Features Bottom basket Folding prongs Arrange pans and plates in the bottom basket. Use the folding prongs to position tableware securely, e.g. plates. Large plates up to a diameter of 31 cm can be arranged in the bottom basket. You can fold the prongs down to position pans, bowls and glasses better. If you do not need the prongs, fold them down. Push the lever forwards and fold down the prongs. To use the prongs again, fold them back up. The prongs audibly click into position.
  • Page 23: Before using for the first time Add special salt. Add rinse aid. Arrange cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Switch on the appliance. Setting the water softening system. Set the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Start the programme with the highest cleaning temperature without tableware. Performing the initial configuration. Water softening system. Overview of water hardness settings.
  • Page 24: Water softening system Water hardness Setting value You can use special salt to soften water. With a water hardness of 0 - 8 °E you can dispense with special salt for dishwashers. If the special salt refill indicator lights up, add special salt to the dispenser just before the programme starts. The consumption of special salt depends on the water hardness. Set the water hardness on your appliance. Only fill the dispenser of the water softening system with special dishwasher salt. To make sure that any special salt that escapes is washed out of the tub, add the special salt immediately before the programme starts. The value H04 is set at the factory.
  • Page 25: Water softening system The water hardness is 0 - 8 °E. You do not need to use special salt. Do not use salt tablets or table salt. To open the basic settings, press for 3 seconds. The display shows Hxx. To save the settings, press for 3 seconds. The water softening system is switched off and the salt refill indicator is deactivated. Regeneration of the water softening system takes place before the end of the main rinse cycle in all programmes. Regeneration will increase the run time and consumption values, e.g., water and electricity. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system if the water hardness is max. 26 °E and you are using a combined detergent with salt replacement substances. Combined detergents with salt replacement substances can generally only be used up to a water hardness of 26 °E without adding special salt. Here you can find an overview of the maximum additional running time and consumption values during regeneration of the water softening system.
  • Page 26: Rinse aid system Add rinse aid up to the max mark. If rinse aid spills out, remove it from the tub. Spilled rinse aid can cause excessive frothing during the wash cycle. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. Close the lid of the dispenser for rinse aid. The rinse aid refill indicator lights up when top-up is needed. If there are streaks or water marks on tableware, change the amount of rinse aid. A low setting adds less rinse aid and reduces streaking on tableware. A higher setting adds more rinse aid, reduces water marks, and improves drying results.
  • Page 27: Detergent To save the settings, press for 3 seconds. Oxygen-based bleaching agents are generally used to remove coloured marks, e.g. tea or ketchup. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent. Suitable detergents are available online or from Customer Service. If you find the rinse aid refill indicator irritating, you can switch the rinse aid system off. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. Tabs are suitable for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter programmes. Liquid detergent works faster and is recommended for shorter programmes without PreRinse. Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers.
  • Page 28: Detergent dosage can be individually adjusted to the level of soiling of the tableware. For better washing and drying results, use special salt and rinse aid. Detergents marked as organic or ecological may have a restricted cleaning effect. Combined detergents contain detergent, rinse aid, and salt replacement substances. Combined detergents generally function only up to a water hardness of 26 °E. For best results, use special salt and rinse aid from a water hardness of 17 °E. Set the rinse aid and water softening system according to the detergent in use. Only touch detergents in a water-soluble pouch with dry hands. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents; better results are achieved with separate rinse aid. Do not use hand washing-up liquid or chlorine-containing detergents as they may damage the appliance or pose health risks.
  • Page 29: Tableware Damage to glass and tableware Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if it is marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid damage to glass and tableware. Highly caustic alkaline or highly acidic cleaning agents, particularly commercial or industrial cleaners, are not safe to use in the dishwasher. Only put tableware in the dishwasher if it is marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Select a programme with lower temperatures. After the programme has ended, take glassware and cutlery out of the appliance without delay. Arrange tableware correctly to optimize the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both the appliance and tableware. Load the baskets so that no projecting items of tableware interfere with closing of the door. Use a detergent marked by the manufacturer as gentle on tableware.
  • Page 30: Tableware To save resources, do not pre-rinse tableware under running water. Put heavily soiled tableware in the bottom basket, e.g., pans. Arrange tableware so it is stable and cannot tip over to prevent damage. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges facing down to prevent injury. Position containers with the openings facing down to avoid water collection. Do not block the spray arms; ensure they can turn freely. Do not place small parts in the tablet collecting tray or block it with tableware. Using the appliance saves energy and water compared to washing by hand. Load the machine with the specified number of place settings for efficiency. Position items with curves or recesses at an angle for better washing and drying results.

Requirement: The appliance door is closed. Press the right programme button. The programme is set and the programme button flashes. The remaining running time of the programme appears on the display. WARNING: Risk of injury! Hot tableware can cause burns to the skin. When the programme has ended, do not empty the appliance until the tableware has cooled down for a while. To prevent water dripping on the tableware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up.
  • Page 32: Basic operation Starting the programme Interrupting programme When you open the appliance door once the appliance has heated up, leave the door slightly ajar for a few minutes to help prevent excess pressure. The programme has ended when the display shows 0h:00m. If you want to add more tableware while the appliance is running, do not use the tablet collecting tray as a handle for the top basket. You can only change a programme when running if you cancel it. To end a programme early or switch from a programme that has already started, you will need to cancel it first. The appliance switches off automatically 1 minute after the end of the programme to save energy. The button lock prevents the appliance from being operated accidentally or incorrectly while running. To prevent damage from dripping water, turn the water tap off tight. If you press during the wash cycle, the programme currently running will be interrupted.
  • Page 33: Basic settings You can configure the basic settings for your appliance to meet your needs. Overview of the basic settings The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. Arrange tableware with sufficient space to ensure spray jets can reach all surfaces. Avoid points of contact to prevent blocking spray arm rotation. If spray arm nozzles are blocked, clean the spray arms. Soiled filters should be cleaned as well.
  • Page 45: Troubleshooting Remnants of food on tableware may be due to incorrectly inserted filters. Ensure filters are inserted properly and engaged. A weak washing programme may not effectively clean tableware. Select a more intensive washing programme for better results. Precleaning tableware too intensely can lead to ineffective washing. Avoid prerinse and only remove large food remnants. Tall narrow receptacles may not rinse adequately if positioned incorrectly. Adjust the positioning of tall narrow receptacles for better rinsing. Ensure the top baskets are set to the same height for optimal cleaning. Removable streaks on glasses may indicate issues with rinse aid settings. Adjust the rinse aid dispenser to a lower setting if necessary.
  • Page 46: Troubleshooting Removable streaks are present on glasses, glassware, and cutlery. Tableware has been precleaned too intensely, causing the sensors to choose a weaker programme. Only remove large remnants of food and do not prerinse tableware. Rust spots on cutlery may occur if cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant. Use rust-resistant tableware and do not wash rusting items together. High salt content in washing water can cause issues; remove any spilled special salt from the tub. Ensure the cap of the special salt dispenser is screwed on tight. Detergent residue may be present if spray arms are blocked or if the detergent dispenser was damp when detergent was added. Check that the spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely. Add special salt if the special salt refill indicator lights up.
  • Page 47: Transportation, storage and disposal Insert the pump cover down and press. Clean wastewater pump. Large remnants of food or foreign bodies can block the wastewater pump.
