  • Page 17: Programmes Use Tableware: Delicate tableware, cutlery, temperature-sensitive plastics and glasses Cleaning 45 °C Express 45° Intermediate rinse Final rinse 55 °C The relatively long running time in the Eco 50 ° programme is due to longer soaking and drying times. The pre-rinse program is suitable for all types of tableware. Test institutes are provided with information for comparability tests, e.g. according to EN60436. You can use the Home Connect app to download additional programmes and save them to the button.
  • Page 18: Tip: To reset the programme to the pre-rinse programme stored at the factory, use the Home Connect app or reset your appliance to the factory settings. Depending on the appliance specifications.
  • Page 19: Additional functions You can find an overview of the additional functions that can be selected here. Different additional functions, which can be found on the control panel of your appliance, are available depending on the appliance configuration. Extra Rinse: An additional rinse cycle is activated between the cleaning and final rinse programme cycles. This will increase the running time and water consumption. IntensiveZone: Switch on with mixed loads containing tableware with different soiling levels. The spray pressure in the bottom basket is increased and the maximum programme temperature maintained longer. SpeedPerfect+: The run time is shortened by 15% to 75% depending on the rinse programme. Energy and water consumption are increased. Pre-Treatment: Heated pre-rinsing with steam phase improves cleaning performance. The running time is extended, and water and energy consumption are increased. Features You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here. These features depend on the model of your appliance.
  • Page 20: Features Raise or lower the basket evenly to the right level. Arrange cups, glasses, and small items of tableware in the top basket. Check that the basket is level on both sides. You can adjust the height of the top basket to make room for larger items of tableware. Use the cutlery shelf and space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of cutlery. To wash large items of tableware in the baskets, adjust the shelf position of the top basket. To prevent the basket from suddenly dropping down, hold the side of the basket by the top edge. Press in the levers on the right and left on the outside of the basket. If you do not need the cutlery shelf, you can fold it up.
  • Page 21: Features Bottom basket Folding prongs Arrange pans and plates in the bottom basket. Use the folding prongs to position tableware securely, e.g. plates. Large plates up to a diameter of 31 cm can be arranged in the bottom basket. You can fold the prongs down to position pans, bowls, and glasses better. If you do not need the prongs, fold them down. Push the lever forwards and fold down the prongs. To use the prongs again, fold them back up. The prongs audibly click into position.
  • Page 22: Before using for the first time, use the bottle holder to position bottles securely. On initial start-up or after a reset to the factory settings, you will need to make settings. Connect your appliance to a mobile device to conveniently change all settings via the Home Connect app. Add special salt and rinse aid before using the appliance. Switch on the appliance and arrange cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Set the water softening system and the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Add detergent before starting the programme with the highest cleaning temperature without tableware. To remove any marks from water or other residues, operate the appliance without tableware before using it for the first time. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges downwards. You can change these settings and other basic settings at any time.
  • Page 23: Water softening system To ensure good dishwashing results, you can treat the water with special salt and the water softening system. To avoid damage to the appliance, water with a hardness above 9 °E must be softened. Hard water leaves limescale on the tableware as well as the washing tank, and parts of the appliance may become blocked. You can find an overview of the water hardness values that can be selected here. You can find out how hard your water is from your local water company or by using a water hardness tester. Set the water hardness determined on your appliance. With a water hardness of 0 - 8 °E you can dispense with special salt for dishwashers and switch off the water softening system. Determine the water hardness and the appropriate setting value. Press to open the basic settings. The value H04 is set at the factory.
  • Page 24: Water softening system Only use special salt for dishwashers. Do not use salt tablets. Do not use table salt. Add the special salt to the dispenser. You can use special salt to soften water. The consumption of special salt depends on the water hardness. Fill the dispenser right up with special salt. Detergent may damage the water softening system. Only fill the dispenser of the water softening system with special dishwasher salt. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system in specific cases.
  • Page 25: Rinse aid system The water hardness is 0 - 8 °E. You do not need to use special salt. Add rinse aid up to the max mark. If rinse aid spills out, remove it from the tub. Spilled rinse aid can cause excessive frothing during the wash cycle. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. Only use rinse aid for domestic dishwashers. If there are streaks or water marks on tableware, change the amount of rinse aid. A low setting adds less rinse aid during the wash cycle and reduces streaking on tableware.
  • Page 26: Detergent To save the settings, press for 3 seconds. Oxygen-based bleaching agents are generally used to remove coloured marks, e.g. tea or ketchup. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent. Suitable detergents are available online or from Customer Service. If you find the rinse aid refill indicator irritating, you can switch the rinse aid system off. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. Tabs are suitable for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter programmes. Liquid detergent works faster and is recommended for shorter programmes without PreRinse. Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers.
  • Page 27: Detergent dosage can be individually adjusted to the level of soiling of the tableware. For better washing and drying results, use special salt and rinse aid. Detergents marked as organic or ecological generally contain lower levels of active agents. Combined detergents contain not only detergent but also rinse aid and salt replacement substances. Combined detergents generally only function up to a water hardness of 26 °E. For the best washing and drying results, use special salt and rinse aid from a water hardness of 17 °E. Set the rinse aid and the water softening system according to the detergent in use. Only touch detergents in a water-soluble pouch with dry hands. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents; better results are generally obtained using a separate rinse aid. Do not use detergent that could cause damage to the appliance or present a risk to health.
  • Page 28: Damage to glass and tableware can occur from highly caustic alkaline or highly acidic cleaning agents. Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid using commercial or industrial cleaning agents in the dishwasher. Do not put aluminium parts in the dishwasher interior. Select a programme with lower temperatures for sensitive items. After the programme has ended, take glassware and cutlery out of the appliance without delay. Tableware not dishwasher-safe includes items made from wood, decorated glassware, antique and hand-crafted tableware, plastic parts not resistant to heat, and tableware made from copper or tin. Arrange tableware correctly to optimize the dishwashing result and prevent damage. Load the baskets so that no projecting items interfere with closing the door. Use a detergent marked by the manufacturer as gentle on tableware.
  • Page 29: Tableware To save resources, do not pre-rinse tableware under running water. Put heavily soiled tableware in the bottom basket, e.g., pans. Arrange tableware so it is stable and cannot tip over to prevent damage. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges facing down to prevent injury. Position containers with the openings facing down to avoid water collection. Do not block the spray arms; ensure they can turn freely. Do not place small parts in the tablet collecting tray or block it with tableware. Using the appliance saves energy and water compared to washing by hand. Load the machine with the specified number of place settings for efficiency. For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle.
  • Page 30: Basic operation The remaining running time of the programme appears on the display. WARNING: Hot tableware can cause burns to the skin. When the programme has ended, do not empty the appliance until the tableware has cooled down for a while. You can set additional functions to complete the washing programme selected. The additional functions which can be used depend on the programme selected. To prevent water dripping on the tableware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up. You can delay the start of the programme by up to 24 hours. The Eco 50° programme is set by default. If you do not perform any actions on the appliance for 10 minutes, the appliance will automatically switch off. To adjust the washing programme to the soiling level of the tableware, select a suitable programme.
  • Page 31: Basic operation If you want to add more tableware while the appliance is running, do not use the tablet collecting tray as a handle for the top basket. The programme is saved and the appliance switches off. You can only change a programme when running if you cancel it. To end a programme early or to switch from a programme that has already started, you will need to cancel it first. The appliance switches off automatically 1 minute after the end of the programme to save energy. The button lock prevents the appliance from being operated accidentally or incorrectly while running. The button lock is activated and will be automatically deactivated at the end of the programme. If you press during the wash cycle, the programme currently running will be interrupted. When you open the appliance door once the appliance has heated up, leave the door slightly ajar for a few minutes and then close it.
  • Page 32: Basic settings You can configure the basic settings for your appliance to meet your needs. Overview of the basic settings The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. Set the water softening system to your water hardness. Level H00 switches the water softening system off. Set the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Switch the rinse aid system off with level r00. The temperature is increased during the final rinse, which improves the drying result. This may increase the run time slightly. Switch the wireless network connection on or off. • Page 36: Cleaning and servicing The cleaning nozzle is maintenance-free, reducing the manual cleaning required for the filter. The maintenance interval of the filter system greatly depends on the type of soiling, the detergent used, and the programme selected. You can reduce the number of filter cleaning processes needed to as little as three times a year if you note the following: large remnants of food have been removed manually before washing. Follow the tips on appliance care to make sure your appliance functions properly at all times. Wipe the door and the control panel regularly using a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. If the appliance is not going to be used for a while, leave the door slightly ajar to prevent unpleasant odours. Soiling in the dishwashing water may block the filters. After each wash, check the filters for residue. The filter system removes coarse soiling from the dishwashing cycle. Your appliance is equipped with a filter cleaning nozzle.
  • Page 37: Cleaning and servicing Pull down the micro filter to reinsert it into the appliance and turn the coarse filter clockwise. Make sure that the arrow markings match up.
