  • Page 4: Important safety instructions are crucial for reducing the risk of fire, electric shock, serious injury, or death when using the appliance. The dishwasher should only be used for its intended purpose as outlined in the use and care manual, and it is not intended for commercial use. Do not tamper with the controls, and ensure that installation is performed by more than one person to avoid personal injury. If the dishwasher is damaged or not working properly, do not install or operate it and contact your dealer or builder immediately. Children should not be left alone or unattended in the area where the dishwasher is in use, and detergents should be kept out of their reach. Packaging materials should be kept away from children to prevent suffocation hazards. Never allow anyone, including children, to sit or stand on any part of the dishwasher to avoid tipping and serious injury. To prevent child entrapment, always remove the door from an old dishwasher when it is taken out of service. The dishwasher must be installed and grounded in a completely enclosed cabinet according to the installation instructions. Before installing or servicing the dishwasher, disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet or turn off power at the circuit breaker.

  • Page 6: Planning the installation requires adherence to governing codes and ordinances. The unit must be grounded to operate properly, connected to a grounded metal wiring system. A three conductor electrical cable or conduit meeting local codes is required. Electrical and grounding connections must comply with national electrical code and local codes. The dishwasher comes with an electrical cord with a three prong grounding plug for 120 Vac, 15 Amp. The wiring must connect to a circuit protected by a 15 Amp circuit breaker or time delay fuse. The dishwasher can be connected to a cold or hot water supply, with a maximum temperature of 140°F (60°C). Water supply pressure must be between 4.2 and 125 p.s.i. Install a 3/8” water supply valve for connection to the dishwasher’s water supply line. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
  • Page 7: Planning the installation involves ensuring proper cutout tolerances and preparing the location for the dishwasher. Follow all cabinet dimensions shown to ensure safe operation. All minimum product dimensions must be met or exceeded. Carefully check the location where the dishwasher is to be installed, ideally close to the kitchen sink for easy water supply and drain connection. The electrical outlet or junction box must meet the electrical specifications and be installed close by for easy disconnection. The opening through the partition for the water supply line and power plug must be large enough to pass through, with specific size requirements for wood and metal partitions. If the height of the existing cutout is too low, check if the cabinet face can be trimmed at the top. Plan the installation so that the appliance can be removed easily if service is required. The dishwasher can be shortened by not installing the plastic feet or by removing trim pieces, but this may create gaps. Ensure the floor is solid and level, and that all cutout surfaces are at right angles for safety. Maintain a minimum clearance of 2 inches from the side wall if the dishwasher is installed in a corner to allow the door to open.
  • Page 8: Planning the installation involves preparing the drain and ensuring proper installation of the custom door panel and handle for model IDWH24. The custom panel mounting screws are provided with the dishwasher. Follow the template included to ensure proper fit. Keep the factory installed high loop drain hose in place for proper operation. If necessary, use an aftermarket drain extension kit to lengthen the hose. The handle and mounting hardware are not included with model IDWH24. Use a handle designed for appliances with a larger D-style pull, and ensure screw heads are countersunk into the panel. Total drain hose length must not exceed 14 ft. 9 in. from the top of the drain loop. The drain hose must connect to a minimum 1/2” inside diameter drain connection. Install an air gap in the drain system if required by local codes. If the door panel weighs more than 15 pounds, order the optional heavy duty door spring kit.

  • Page 10: Installation instructions include verifying package contents and removing all packaging materials from the dishwasher. Ensure the toe kick is removed from the packaging and that the dishwasher is placed beside the cabinet opening. Remove the “O” ring attached to the water line for later use. Inspect the unit for any shipping damage and verify that all required components are present. Do not install a damaged or incomplete appliance. Included components consist of mounting hardware, plastic feet, an O ring, product literature, and door panel mounting screws. Tools required for installation include a level, crescent wrench, wire strippers, flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and tape measure. Materials not provided but required for installation include a hose clamp and possibly additional hoses and clamps for an air gap. Ensure all necessary items for proper installation are gathered before proceeding.
  • Page 11: Installation preparation includes important safety warnings. Ensure electrical power is turned off before working on wiring. Moving the appliance requires two people for safety. Wear hand protection when moving the appliance. Avoid pinching hoses or electrical wiring when pushing the appliance into the cutout. Improper installation may not be covered under warranty. The front panel must be installed before the dishwasher installation. Do not obstruct the exhaust vent on the bottom of the door with the panel. For custom door panels, follow the included template for fabrication. Install the Dacor trim kit according to the accompanying instructions.
  • Page 12: Installation instructions provide guidance for adjusting door springs and handle installation. To make larger tension adjustments to the door springs, remove the back of the springs from the dishwasher. If the door tends to fall open or pull shut quickly, adjust the springs accordingly. On model IDWH24, if the door panel is between 15 and 23 lbs., the optional heavy duty spring kit is required. The door springs are located on the sides of the dishwasher. Make small adjustments on only one side first if necessary. To increase spring tension, turn the front part of the spring clockwise. To decrease spring tension, turn the front part of the spring counterclockwise. Reattach the front end of the spring by pulling it up and forward to fasten it in the mount. Open the door and check the spring tension again after adjustments.
  • Page 13: Installation instructions outline the steps for leveling the dishwasher and connecting the electric cable. A level unit is crucial for proper operation. Check the dishwasher floor for levelness using a level tool. Adjust the front legs as necessary to ensure the unit is level from front to back and side to side. Use a flat blade screwdriver to turn the rear leg adjustment screw for leveling. White plastic feet protect the kitchen floor and should be installed before leveling the appliance. Leave the retaining nuts loose for final leveling after the unit is in place. For hard-wire installations, remove the supplied power cord. Ensure the power is turned off at the breaker/fuse box before starting electrical connections. Disconnect the factory-installed power cord from the terminal block and ground connection inside the access panel.
  • Page 14: Installation instructions outline the steps for connecting a dishwasher. Ensure that a nonmetallic cable is used during installation. Gently slide the unit into the dishwasher opening while pulling the drain hose, water supply line, and power cable through access holes. Connect the white wire to the “N” terminal and the black wire to the “L” terminal on the dishwasher terminal block. Ground the green wire to the ground connection screw on the dishwasher chassis. Check that all slack is removed from the power cable, water supply line, and drain hose after positioning the dishwasher. Verify that the water supply pressure and flow rate meet specifications before connecting. Flush the water supply line prior to connecting it to the dishwasher. Insert the provided “O” ring in the end of the water supply line before connecting. Tighten the connection of the water supply line by hand plus a quarter turn with a crescent wrench.
  • Page 15: Installation instructions outline the necessary steps for proper setup of the dishwasher. Check that the entire length of the power cable, water line, and drain hose are free of pinches or kinks. Verify that the dishwasher is level front to back and side to side inside the cutout. The drain line must be routed through the bottom of the cabinet and up to the drain or air gap connection. Turn on the water supply and wait for five minutes to check for plumbing leaks. If required, the air gap must be installed at countertop level. Test dishwasher operation by running a rinse cycle and check for water intake and drainage. Inspect the drain system to ensure no part of the drain hose is higher than 35 inches from the bottom of the dishwasher. Confirm that the power cable is disconnected and all packing material has been removed from inside the dishwasher. Dacor is not responsible for the cost of correcting problems caused by a faulty installation.
  • Page 16: Installation instructions outline the steps for proper dishwasher setup. Check adjacent drawers and cupboards for accessibility when the dishwasher door is open. Anchor one anti-tip bracket on each side of the dishwasher for safety. Ensure a 1/8” (3.0 mm) space between the top of the dishwasher door and the cabinet underside. Anti-tip brackets protect against tipping from heavy loads on the door. Adjust the front leveling legs to achieve the correct height of the dishwasher. Verify that the unit is level side to side and front to back. The unit can have a maximum inclination of 3/16” (5.0 mm) without performance issues. Install screws through the top or sides of the door jamb using the included spacer. Hand tighten the front leg retaining nuts and secure them with a crescent wrench.
  • Page 17: Installation instructions provide steps for hanging the toe kick on brackets and ensuring it is even with the kitchen cabinet toe kick. The installer should check that the toe kick is properly adjusted and cover screw holes with plastic plugs. A checklist is included to ensure a safe and proper installation, emphasizing the homeowner's responsibility for proper installation. Inspect the unit for cosmetic damage and ensure all packaging and literature have been removed. Verify that the power cable is connected to a grounded electrical outlet or junction box. Confirm that the O ring is installed on the water supply line and that the water supply line and drain hose are properly installed. Check that the unit is leveled and attached to surrounding cabinets using anti-tip brackets. Ensure proper operation has been verified and check for leaks in the water supply line and drain hose.
