• Page 4: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Always use caution when opening the door during or following a wash cycle as hot water or steam may escape. Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for two weeks or more. To avoid floor damage and possible mold growth, do not allow wet areas to remain around or under the dishwasher. Before using a dishwasher that is connected to a hot water system that has been unused for two weeks or longer, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. It is highly recommended for the end user to become familiar with the procedure to shut off the incoming water supply and the procedure to shut off the incoming power supply. To avoid risk of electric shock, only use the appliance in enclosed residential space according to the installation manual. Do not allow children to play in or on the dishwasher. When loading items to be washed, locate sharp items so they are not likely to damage the door seal. Do not wash plastic items unless they are marked dishwasher safe or the equivalent. This product may contain a chemical known to the State of California, which can cause cancer or reproductive harm.
• Page 5: Preventing material damage Harsh chemicals such as bleach-based products can damage your dishwasher. Do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach-based products to clean your dishwasher. Certain cleaning products may damage the appliance. Do not use a steam cleaner. So as not to scratch the finish on the appliance, do not use sponges with a rough surface or abrasive cleaning agents. Do not use stainless steel polish on an anti-fingerprint finish or a black stainless finish. When the program ends, let the appliance cool down a bit before opening the door. Protect against freezing to avoid possible damage to the fill valve. Damage caused by freezing is not covered by the warranty. Saving energy If you follow these instructions, your appliance will use less power and water. The Normal program is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The AquaSensor is an optical measuring device which measures the turbidity of the washing water. You can save water with the AquaSensor. If the soiling level is high, the washing water is drained off and replaced with fresh water. If the soiling level is lower, the washing water is used in the next rinse, reducing water consumption. In the Auto cycles, the temperature and run time are additionally adjusted to the level of soiling.

Lower rack Lower spray arm: The lower spray arm washes the dishware in the lower rack. If the dishware has not been washed properly, clean the spray arms. Cleaning the spray arms.
• Page 7: Familiarizing yourself with your appliance Detergent tabs automatically drop out of the detergent dispenser into the tab collecting tray, where they can dissolve fully. The upper spray arm washes the dishware in the upper rack. If the dishware has not been washed properly, clean the spray arms. Rinse aid is added to the dispenser for rinse aid. You will need the rating plate data to contact customer service. You can use the control panel to configure all functions of your appliance and to obtain information about the operating status. • Page 9: Dishwasher cycles overview is provided. The running time varies depending on the selected cycle, water temperature, quantity of dishware, and level of dirt. Consumption values relate to normal conditions and water hardness of 16 - 20 °E. Heavy cycle is for washing pots, pans, and non-fragile dishware, effective in removing stubborn food remnants. Auto cycle optimizes cleaning based on the soiling of the rinse water. Normal cycle is suitable for mixed dishware and is economical. Speed 60® cycle is time-optimized for lightly dried-on food remnants. Energy Guide label is based on the Normal soil sensing cycle without rinse aid. Favorite function allows saving a combination of a cycle and an option via the Home Connect app. The unit was tested under specific conditions for energy certification.
• Page 10: You can use the Home Connect app to download additional cycles and options and save them. Arrange cups, glasses, and small tableware items in the top rack. Here is an overview of the different options available on your dishwasher. For a better drying result, the final rinse temperature is increased and the drying phase extended. To ensure a higher hygiene status for the appliance and dishware, the temperature is increased and maintained for an extra-long period. You can adjust the height of the upper rack to make room for larger items. To wash large items in the racks, adjust the shelf height of the upper rack. Only sanitizing cycles have been designed to meet the requirements for soil removal and sanitation efficacy. You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here. These features depend on your appliance model.
• Page 11: Features Raise or lower the rack evenly to the right level. Check that the rack is level on both sides. Release the levers. Arrange silverware in the silverware drawer. The rack clicks into position. Slide the rack in. Arrange pans and plates in the lower rack. Arrange silverware with the points and sharp edges down. Arrange the silverware in the silverware basket, ensuring that the items are not nestled together and with the sharp points down. The sharp points and edges of knives and other sharp utensils can cause serious injury.
• Page 12: Features include the ability to fold the tines down for better arrangement of pans, bowls, and glasses. The cup shelf can be used for small cups and glasses or large items of silverware. To fold down the tines, push the lever forward. The tines can be folded back up for reuse, clicking into position. Flip tines are available to position dishware securely, such as plates. Rack heights can be adjusted according to the appliance specifications. The appliance height is 34 inches with a silverware basket or drawer. Upper and lower rack heights vary, accommodating different dishware sizes.
• Page 13: Before using for the first time Initial use Before the first use, or after a factory reset, you will need to configure the settings. Tip: Connect your appliance to a mobile device. You can conveniently change all settings using the Home Connect® app. Requirement: The appliance has been installed and connected. Add rinse aid. Switch on the appliance. Start the Program with the highest cleaning temperature without dishware. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. Only use rinse aid intended for household dishwashers.
• Page 14: Detergent To open the appliance settings, press the button for 3 seconds. Find out which detergents are suitable for your appliance. Only use detergents that are made for dishwashers, either basic or combination detergents. For the best washing and drying results, use a separate detergent, then add rinse aid separately. Modern, powerful detergents mainly use a low-alkaline formulation with enzymes. Tabs are perfect for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter cycles. Liquid detergent works faster and is recommended for shorter cycles without a pre-rinse. Do not use a detergent which is not designated for dishwasher use or contains chlorine. Liquid hand soap can cause increased frothing and damage the appliance.
• Page 15: Dishware Close the lid of the detergent dispenser. Information on detergent Follow the instructions on detergents in everyday use. Detergents marked as ecological generally contain lower levels of active agents or none at all. Adjust the rinse aid and the water softening system settings in accordance with the detergent in use. To prevent sticking, only touch detergents in a water-soluble pouch with dry hands. The detergent dispenser will open automatically at the optimum time during the cycle. Use tablets with enhanced drying results. Only wash dishware that is suitable for dishwashers. If dishware is only lightly soiled, slightly less than the amount of detergent specified is usually sufficient. Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if they are labeled dishwasher-safe.
• Page 16: For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle so water can run off. Use a detergent labeled as gentle to dishes. Highly caustic alkaline or highly acidic cleaning solutions, in particular commercial or industrial cleaners, are not safe to use in the dishwasher. Remove large remnants of food from dishware before placing them in the dishwasher. To save resources, do not pre-rinse dishware under running water. Arrange dishware correctly to optimize the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both dishware and the appliance. Avoid loading the dishwasher with paper products, plastic bags, packing materials or anything other than normal, dishwasher safe dishware and kitchenware. Using the appliance allows you to save energy and water compared to doing dishes by hand. To save energy and water, load the machine with the number of place settings specified. After the cycle has ended, take glassware and silverware out of the appliance without delay.
• Page 17: Dishware Removing dishware Dishes can be very hot immediately after the cycle ends. Open the door slightly and allow dishes to cool for a few minutes before unloading. To prevent water dripping onto dishware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up. Check the washing tank and accessories for soiling and clean if necessary. Recommended loading patterns. Lower rack. Silverware basket. Additional loading patterns for 10 place settings. Upper rack.
• Page 18: Basic operation This feature cannot be deactivated. Switching on the appliance involves a short touch. The cycle last selected and the option last selected will be set by default. The buttons on the appliance are touch sensitive and require a quick, gentle touch. If no actions are performed for 10 minutes, the appliance will automatically switch off. To adjust the wash cycle, select a suitable program by pressing the cycle button repeatedly. You can set options to complete the chosen wash program, depending on the selected program. The time delay function can be used via the Home Connect® app to delay the start of the wash cycle. While the wash cycle is running, a spot of light is projected onto the floor below the appliance door. Unintentional operation can be prevented, requiring the door to be closed within 4 seconds after starting the appliance.
• Page 19: Basic operation To save energy, the appliance switches off automatically 10 minutes after the end of the wash cycle. If you open the appliance door immediately after the wash cycle has ended, the appliance will switch off after 4 seconds. Interrupting the wash cycle Press On/Off. The program is saved and the appliance switches off. Press On/Off. Press to resume the wash cycle. Terminating the wash cycle To end a cycle early or to switch from one that has already started, you will need to cancel it first. Press for approx. 4 seconds. CAUTION: To avoid risk of injury, always use caution when opening the door during or following a wash cycle as hot water or steam may escape. Do not fully open the door until water noises have stopped and steam has subsided.
• Page 20: Basic settings allow you to configure your appliance to meet your needs. The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. You can set or switch off the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Intensive drying can be switched on or off for each operation, increasing the final rinse temperature for better drying results. Adjusting the signal volume is possible with a scale of 4 levels. You can switch the wireless network connection on or off, but the basic setting is not available until the appliance is connected with the Home Connect® app. Restoring changed settings to factory settings is an option, and initial use settings must be configured. Connecting your appliance to a mobile device allows convenient changes to all settings using the Home Connect® app. To set intensive drying, you need to press a specific button for 3 seconds. To store the settings, press the button for 3 seconds again.
• Page 21: To open the appliance settings, press the button for 3 seconds. The refill indicator for rinse aid flashes. Press the button repeatedly until the Rinse Aid and Sanitize LEDs flash. The factory setting is level 2. To store the setting, press the button for 3 seconds. If the LED is not lit up, Wi-Fi is switched off. This appliance is network-capable. Connecting your appliance to a mobile device lets you control its functions via the Home Connect® app. The Home Connect® services are not available in every country. The availability of the Home Connect® function depends on the availability of Home Connect® services in your country.
• Page 22: Home Connect® To be able to use Home Connect®, you must first set up the connection to the WLAN home network (Wi-Fi) and to the Home Connect® app. Open the Home Connect® app and scan the QR code. The Home Connect® app guides you through the entire registration process. Consult the Home Connect® documents supplied. Follow the instructions in the Home Connect® app as well. Note the safety information in this instruction manual and ensure that it is observed when operating the appliance using the Home Connect® app. Adapt Home Connect® to your needs. Connect your appliance to a mobile device quickly and easily. You can use the Home Connect® app to start the appliance with your mobile device. The appliance must be connected to your WLAN home network and the Home Connect® app.
• Page 23: Cleaning and maintenance Start the program without dishware. Remote Diagnostics allows customer service to access your appliance if connected to the Home Connect® server. Only use suitable cleaning agents to clean your appliance. Follow tips on appliance care to ensure proper functioning. Regularly wipe the door seals, front of the dishwasher, and control panel with a damp cloth. You can update the software of your appliance for optimization and troubleshooting. Leave the door slightly ajar if the appliance will not be used for a while to prevent unpleasant odors. The filter system removes coarse soiling from the dishwashing cycle. Check the filters for residues after each dishwashing cycle. Never use detergents containing chlorine as they may harm health.
• Page 24: Cleaning and maintenance Turn the coarse filter counterclockwise and take out the filter system. Insert the filter system into the appliance and turn the coarse filter clockwise. Ensure that foreign objects do not fall into the sump. Ensure that the arrow markings match up. Pull the micro filter downward and off. Limescale and soiling in the dishwashing water may block the nozzles and bearings on the spray arms. Clean the spray arms regularly. Unscrew the upper spray arm and pull down to remove. Press the locking catches together and take the coarse filter upward and out. Pull up the lower spray arm to remove. Clean the filter elements under running water.
• Page 25: Cleaning and maintenance Check the outlet nozzles on the spray arms for blockages under running water and remove any foreign objects. Insert the lower spray arm. The spray arm clicks into position. Insert the upper spray arm and screw firmly in place.
• Page 26: Troubleshooting Four vertical LEDs are all flashing. There is a technical issue. If the problem occurs again, contact customer service and give the error code. Dishware is not dry due to no rinse aid used or dosage set too low. Set the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Select a wash cycle with drying. Position dishware at an angle where possible to avoid water collection. Use rinse aid to improve drying performance. Activate Extra Dry/intensive drying to enhance drying performance. Wait until the program ends before removing dishware. Silverware not arranged properly can lead to droplets forming on contact points.
• Page 27: Troubleshooting Food remnants on dishware may occur if dishware is placed too close together or the rack is overfilled. Arrange dishware with sufficient space in between to ensure spray jets reach the surfaces. Avoid points of contact to prevent blocking spray arm rotation. Spray arm nozzles may be blocked, requiring cleaning. Dirty filters can also cause issues; clean the filters regularly. Filters must be inserted correctly and engaged properly. If the selected wash cycle is too light, choose a more intensive wash program. Do not pre-rinse dishware too intensively, as this may lead to lighter cycle selection. Tall narrow containers should not be positioned at too great an angle or in corner areas. Ensure the upper rack is set to the same height on both sides for optimal performance.
• Page 28: Troubleshooting There is detergent residue on the dishware, inside the appliance, or on the door. Change your detergent. Scrub the appliance by hand. Too little detergent is being used. Increase the amount of detergent used or change detergent. Selected wash cycle is too light. Select a more intensive wash program. Dishwashing temperature is too low. Select a program with a higher dishwashing temperature. Plastic parts inside the appliance may become discolored over the life of the dishwasher.
• Page 29: Troubleshooting There are removable streaks on glasses, glassware with a metallic appearance, and silverware. Items of dishware are blocking the dispenser lid. Do not place dishware or fragrance dispensers in the tab collecting tray. Dishware has been precleaned too intensively. Only remove large remnants of food and do not pre-rinse dishware. Irreversible clouding of glassware may occur if glasses are not dishwasher-proof. Use dishwasher-proof glasses. Avoid a lengthy steam phase after the wash cycle ends. Check that the spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely. Connection to home network is not established if WLAN on router is not active.
• Page 30: Troubleshooting All LEDs light up or flash. Electronics have detected a fault. Press the main switch button for approx. 4 seconds to reset and restart the appliance. If the problem occurs again, switch off the appliance and unplug it for at least 2 minutes. Water is left in the appliance at the end of the program. The filter system or area under the filters is blocked. Clean the filters and drain pump. Appliance cannot be switched on or operated. A software update may be taking place. Wait until the software update has finished. Appliance functions have failed. Pull out the power cord plug or switch off the breaker, wait at least 2 minutes, then reconnect the appliance to the power supply. Appliance does not start. The breaker may have tripped or the power cord may not be inserted properly. Check the relevant breaker and ensure the power cord is securely connected. Appliance door is not closed properly. Close the appliance door to ensure it is secure. Appliance stops during the cycle. This may be due to the door not being closed properly or an interruption in power and/or water supply. Check the power and water supply. Upper rack is pressing against the inner door. Ensure the rear panel is not being pressed in and arrange dishware properly to prevent the door from closing. Appliance door cannot be closed. The door lock may have been activated. Close the appliance door with greater force.
• Page 31: Troubleshooting Appliance door cannot be closed due to installation method. Check whether the appliance has been installed properly. Lid on the detergent dispenser cannot be closed due to sticky detergent residue. Remove detergent residue. Filling valves making knocking noises are caused by the domestic installation. Noise level can vary depending on the kind of dishes loaded and their placement. Make sure the dishware is loaded securely. Spray arm may strike dishes if not arranged properly. Position light items of dishware securely to prevent movement during the wash cycle. Large food remnants or foreign objects can block the drain pump.
• Page 32: Transportation, storage and disposal To avoid damage to the appliance, empty it before transporting. Always transport the dishwasher upright to prevent residual water getting into the machine's controls. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before removal. Environmentally sound disposal allows valuable raw materials to be recycled. Avoid a risk of entrapment upon disposal by unplugging the appliance and cutting the power cord. With any warranty repair, the appliance will be repaired by an authorized service provider using genuine replacement parts. Before leaving for vacation during warmer weather, turn off the water supply at the nearest point to the dishwasher. If the dishwasher will be unused for an extended period in freezing temperatures, have it winterized by an authorized service provider.

Lifetime warranty against stainless steel rust through: BSH will repair or replace your dishwasher if the inner liner should rust through. BSH will repair or replace the stainless steel door if the door should rust through. Bosch is under no obligation to provide any concessions once this warranty has expired. During this warranty period, Bosch will repair your product without charge if it proves to have been manufactured with a defect in materials or workmanship. Bosch's sole liability is to repair manufacturer-defective product only, using a Bosch authorized service provider. The warranty coverage excludes all defects or damage that are not the direct fault of Bosch. Use of the product in anything other than its normal, customary and intended manner is excluded from warranty coverage. Ordinary wear and tear, spills of food, liquid, grease accumulations, or other substances are not covered. In no event shall Bosch have any liability for damage to surrounding property.
