WATER SOFTENER
The water softener produces a salt solution to soften the water in regions with hard water. It
maintains good wash performance and prevents scale buildup. You do not need to use this
feature if you have a household water softener installed.
Refer to the 'Water hardness scales' table to determine the best water softener setting. You
may hear some noises when the water softener is operating. This is normal.
Using the salt reservoir
The salt reservoir must always be filled with granular salt designed for dishwasher water
softening. We do not recommend the use of cooking salt, like table salt, rock salt or pellets,
as they may contain impurities that will damage the water softener. Do not add detergent
or rinse aid to the salt reservoir. This will cause damage.
The salt reservoir is located in the base,
below the lower rack. It holds up to
approximately 750g of salt (actual capacity
will vary depending on brand and grain size
of salt used).
When the salt reservoir is low, the salt
indicator on the control panel will light up to
remind you to refill the reservoir.

Turn the cover anticlockwise, then pull to
remove. Add salt to the reservoir using the
funnel provided.

For first use, add the salt and approximately
1 litre of water.
Replace the cover and turn clockwise
to close.

When filling the salt reservoir, you may notice water being displaced from the water softener overflow. This
is normal. If you are not washing your dishes immediately after filling the salt reservoir, we recommend
running a RINSE cycle to remove any salt water or spilt granules.
