- Page 17: You can find an overview of the programmes that can be selected here. Different programmes are available depending on the appliance configuration. The running time may vary depending on the programme selected. The running time depends on the water temperature, the quantity of tableware, the level of soiling, and the additional function selected. The consumption values can be found in the quick reference guide. The consumption values relate to normal conditions and a water hardness of 16 - 20 °E. Different influencing factors such as water temperature or pipe pressure may result in deviations. Programme sequence includes various options for different types of tableware and levels of soiling. Intensive programme is suitable for pots and pans, non-fragile tableware, and cutlery with stubborn, burned, or dried-on food remnants. Express Sparkle programme is designed for common household food remnants normally to firmly dried on. Sensor-controlled programme optimizes cleaning based on the soiling of the washing water. Eco programme is the most economical option for mixed tableware and cutlery.
- Page 18: Programmes The Eco 50 ° programme has a relatively long running time due to longer soaking and drying times, resulting in optimal consumption values. The Home Connect app allows users to download additional programmes and save them to the appliance. Test institutes are provided with information for comparability tests according to EN60436. The product number (E-Nr.) and production number (FD) are required for requests to test institutes. To save a favourite programme, press the relevant buttons in sequence and hold for 3 seconds. The selected programme and additional function will flash when saving a combination. The Quick 45° programme is factory-set and is time-optimised for efficiency.
- Page 19: Additional functions You can find an overview of the additional functions that can be selected here. Different additional functions, which can be found on the control panel of your appliance, are available depending on the appliance configuration. Extra Dry: For a better drying result the final rinse temperature is increased and the drying phase extended. Half Load: Switch on with small loads. It is recommended adding less detergent to the detergent dispenser than for a full machine load. IntensiveZone: Switch on with mixed loads containing tableware with different soiling levels. Vario Eco: Water and energy consumption can be reduced. The running time is extended for improved cleaning and drying results. Features You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here. These features depend on the model of your appliance.
- Page 20: Features Raise or lower the basket evenly to the right level. Arrange cups, glasses, and small items of tableware in the top basket. Check that the basket is level on both sides. Release the levers; the basket clicks into position. Slide the basket back in. You can adjust the height of the top basket to make room for larger items of tableware. Use the cutlery shelf and space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of cutlery. To wash large items of tableware in the baskets, adjust the shelf position of the top basket. Pull out the top basket. To prevent the basket from suddenly dropping down, hold the side of the basket by the top edge.
- Page 21: Features Bottom basket Folding prongs Arrange pans and plates in the bottom basket. Use the folding prongs to position tableware securely, e.g. plates. You can fold the prongs down to position pans, bowls and glasses better. Large plates up to a diameter of 31 cm can be arranged in the bottom basket as shown. If you do not need the prongs, fold them down. To use the prongs again, fold them back up. The prongs audibly click into position.
- Page 22: Before using for the first time, add special salt and rinse aid. Arrange cutlery in the cutlery basket with sharp points downwards. Switch on the appliance and set the water softening system. Set the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed and add detergent. Start the programme with the highest cleaning temperature without tableware. Performing the initial configuration is necessary on first start-up or after a reset. Hard water leaves limescale on tableware and can block parts of the appliance. Water with a hardness above 9 °E must be softened to avoid damage. You can connect your appliance to a mobile device for convenient settings changes. An overview of water hardness values can be found for proper setting adjustments.
- Page 23: Water softening system Water hardness Setting value Soft Medium Hard You can use special salt to soften water. If the special salt refill indicator lights up, add special salt to the dispenser just before the programme starts. The consumption of special salt depends on the water hardness. Only fill the dispenser of the water softening system with special dishwasher salt. To make sure that any special salt that escapes is washed out of the tub, add the special salt to the dispenser immediately before the programme starts.
- Page 24: Rinse aid system Only use special salt for dishwashers. The water hardness is 0 - 8 °E. You do not need to use special salt. Do not use salt tablets or table salt. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. Only use rinse aid for domestic dishwashers. If the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, top up with rinse aid. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system in specific cases. The water hardness is max. 26 °E when using a combined detergent with salt replacement substances. You can switch the special salt refill indicator off if it is irritating. Fill the dispenser right up with special salt.
- Page 25: Detergent Add rinse aid up to the max mark. If you find the rinse aid refill indicator irritating, you can switch the rinse aid system off. The function of rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. You will generally get better results using rinse aid. Spilled rinse aid can cause excessive frothing during the wash cycle. If there are streaks or water marks on tableware, change the amount of rinse aid. Only use detergents that are suitable for dishwashers. Both separate and combined detergents are suitable. For optimum washing and drying results, use separate detergent, adding special salt and rinse aid separately. Modern, powerful detergents mainly use a low-alkaline formulation with enzymes. A low setting adds less rinse aid during the wash cycle and reduces streaking on tableware. A higher setting adds more rinse aid during the wash cycle, reduces water marks, and improves the drying result.
- Page 26: Detergent is essential for washing and removing protein and stains. Oxygen-based bleaching agents are used for colored marks like tea or ketchup. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent. Suitable detergents can be found online or through customer service. The dosage of powder and liquid detergent can be adjusted based on the level of soiling. For optimal results and to avoid appliance damage, use special salt and rinse aid. Combined detergents contain detergent, rinse aid, and salt replacement substances. They generally function effectively up to a water hardness of 26 °E. For water hardness above 26 °E, special salt and rinse aid are necessary. Tabs are convenient as they do not require measuring but may leave residues in shorter programs. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter programs, while liquid detergent works faster and is suitable for programs without PreRinse. Unsuitable detergents include hand washing-up liquid, which can cause excessive frothing, and chlorine-containing detergents, which may pose health risks.
- Page 27: Tableware Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if it is marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid damage to glass and tableware. The following tableware is not dishwasher-safe: items of cutlery and tableware made from wood, decorated glassware, antique and hand-crafted tableware, plastic parts not resistant to heat, tableware made from copper or tin, and tableware soiled with ash, wax, lubricating grease, or paint. If you use powder detergent and select a program with pre-rinse, you can also add a little detergent to the interior door of the appliance. Only clean tableware that is suitable for dishwashers. Decorated glassware and parts made of aluminium or silver may fade or discolour with dishwashing. Delicate types of glass may turn cloudy after a few washing cycles. The chemical composition of detergent causes damage. Use a detergent marked by the manufacturer as gentle on tableware.
- Page 28: Tableware Allowing steam to escape and water to leak out around the door could damage your kitchen units. Highly caustic alkaline or highly acidic cleaning agents, particularly commercial or industrial cleaners, are not safe to use in the dishwasher with aluminium. The water temperature of the programme is too high. Select a programme with lower temperatures. After the programme has ended, take glassware and cutlery out of the appliance without delay. Using the appliance allows you to save energy and water compared to washing-up by hand. To save energy and water, load the machine with the number of place settings specified. For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle so water can run off. Arrange tableware correctly to optimise the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both the appliance and tableware. Load the baskets so that no projecting items of tableware interfere with closing of the door. Remove large remnants of food from tableware.
- Page 29: Basic operation To save resources, do not pre-rinse tableware under running water. WARNING: Risk of injury! Hot tableware can cause burns to the skin. When the programme has ended, do not empty the appliance until the tableware has cooled down for a while. Put heavily soiled tableware in the bottom basket, e.g. pans. To prevent damage to tableware, arrange it so it is stable and cannot tip over. Arrange cutlery with the points and sharp edges facing down to prevent injury. Position containers with the openings facing down so no water can collect in them. To prevent water dripping on the tableware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up. Check the washing tank and accessories for soiling and clean if necessary. Do not block the spray arms - make sure that they can turn freely.
- Page 30: Basic operation The programme is set and the programme button flashes. The remaining running time of the programme appears on the display. If you want to add more tableware while the appliance is running, do not use the tablet collecting tray as a handle for the top basket. You can only change a programme when running if you cancel it. The appliance switches off automatically 1 minute after the end of the programme to save energy. The additional functions which can be used depend on the programme selected. The button lock prevents the appliance from being operated accidentally or incorrectly while running. You can delay the start of the programme by up to 24 hours. When the appliance is operated, it flashes on the display. When you open the appliance door once the appliance has heated up, leave the door slightly ajar for a few minutes.
- Page 31: Basic operation Press to save the programme and switch off the appliance. Press to resume the programme. To end a programme early, cancel it first by pressing for approx. 4 seconds. All displays will light up, and the display will show 0h:01m as the residual water is pumped out. The programme is cancelled and ends after approx. 1 minute. Please note the information on safe use. Press to switch off the appliance. To prevent damage from dripping water, turn the water tap off tight. If you press during the wash cycle, the programme will be interrupted and will continue automatically when the appliance is switched back on.
- Page 32: Basic settings You can configure the basic settings for your appliance to meet your needs. Overview of the basic settings The basic settings depend on the features of your appliance. Set the water softening system to your water hardness. Level H00 switches the water softening system off. Set the amount of rinse aid to be dispensed. Switch the rinse aid system off with level r00. The temperature is increased during the final rinse, which improves the drying result. This may increase the run time slightly. Switch Extra Dry on d01 or off d00.
