Only on first use add water to the salt compartment.
Use softener salt specifically produced for use in dishwashers.
When start the appliance, the salt compartment is filled with water, therefore put the
softener salt in prior to start of the appliance.
•
If the softener salt has overflowed but it is not planned to start the dishwasher right
away, run a short washing program to protect the appliance against corrosion.
4.3 Water hardness degree checking (test strips)
1. Run water through the tap for 1 min.
2. Keep the test strip in the water for 1 sec.
3. Shake the strip.
4. Wait for 1 min.
5. Set the water hardness level in the dishwasher:

NOTE: The default hardness level is 3. If the water hardness is higher than 90 °TH (French
standard) or if well (source) water is used it is recommended to use filter and refinement
devices.

4.5 Water softener
The appliance is equipped with a water softener which reduces the hardness in the mains
water supply. To find out the hardness degree of tap water, contact local water supply
company or use a test strip.
4.6 Water hardness degree setting
