- Page 25: deSoftening system To get good washing results, you can soften water using the softening system and special salt. To avoid damage to the device, water with a hardness above 7 °dH must be softened. Hard, calcareous water leaves limescale residue on the dishes and the washing container and can clog parts of the appliance. Overview of the water hardness settings Here you will find an overview of the adjustable water hardness values. You can ask your local waterworks about the water hardness level or use a water hardness tester. A notice: Set your device to the determined water hardness level. If the water hardness level is 0 - 6 °dH, you can avoid using special salt for dishwashers and switch off the softening system. The value H04 is set at the factory. Set the device to the water hardness level.
- Page 26: Softening system Only use special salt for dishwashers. You can soften water with special salt. Do not use salt tablets or table salt. Pour the special salt into the storage container. If the special salt refill indicator lights up, fill special salt into the storage container immediately. The consumption of special salt depends on the degree of water hardness. Cleaner can damage the softening system. To ensure that overflowed special salt is rinsed out, fill the container immediately before the program starts. You can switch off the special salt refill indicator if it bothers you.
- Page 27: Rinse aid system The water hardness level is 0 - 6 °dH. You can do without special salt. For best drying results, use rinse aid. In order to maintain the trouble-free function of the softening system, the device regenerates the softening system at regular intervals. Use only household dishwasher rinse aid. When the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, refill rinse aid. In all programs, the water softener is regenerated before the end of the main wash cycle. The running time and the consumption values increase when regenerating the softening system. Overview of the consumption values when regenerating the softening system. Here you will find an overview of the maximum additional running time and consumption values when regenerating the softening system.
- Page 28: Rinse aid system Fill in the rinse aid up to the max mark. A higher level adds more rinse aid to the rinse cycle, reduces water stains and produces a better drying result. If the rinse aid refill indicator bothers you, you can switch off the rinse aid system. If rinse aid has overflowed, remove it from the rinse tank. The function of the rinse aid is limited with combined detergents. Overflowing rinse aid can lead to excessive foam formation during the rinse cycle. Close the lid of the rinse aid reservoir. If streaks or water stains remain on the dishes, change the amount of rinse aid. Press repeatedly until the display shows the factory-set value r05. The rinse aid system is switched off and the rinse aid refill indicator is deactivated.
- Page 29: Liquid detergents work faster and are recommended for shortened programs without pre-rinse. Only use cleaner that is suitable for dishwashers. To achieve optimal rinsing and drying results, use Solo Cleaner in conjunction with separate application of special salt and rinse aid. The dosage can be adjusted to the degree of contamination. Modern, powerful cleaners predominantly use a low-alkaline formula with enzymes. Solo cleaners are products that do not contain any other components apart from the cleaner. For each cleaner, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Tabs are suitable for all cleaning tasks and do not need to be dosed. Combined cleaners contain rinse aid and salt substitutes and may not dissolve completely with shortened programs. Powder cleaners are recommended for shortened programs.
- Page 30: Add special salt and rinse aid for the best washing and drying results. Use special salt for water hardness levels of 14 °dH and above. Only handle cleaners with a water-soluble coating with dry hands. Even if the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, washing programs run smoothly with combined cleaners. Do not use cleaners that may cause damage to the device or endanger health. Hand dishwashing liquid can cause increased foam formation and damage to the device. Use tabs with special drying performance. Chlorine residues on dishes can pose a health risk. Follow the instructions for cleaners in daily use. Combined cleaners with salt additives can only be used up to a certain level of water hardness, usually 21 °dH, without special salt.
- Page 31: Damage to glass and dishes Only wash glasses and porcelain that are marked as dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer. Avoid damage to glass and dishes. The following dishes are not dishwasher suitable: Crockery that is not marked as dishwasher suitable, wooden parts, decorative glasses, arts and crafts items. Choose a program with lower temperatures. Take out glass and plastic parts promptly after the program ends. Put the dishes away correctly to optimize washing results and avoid damage. When using the device, save energy and water compared to hand washing. Use a cleaner recommended by the manufacturer for better results. Load the appliance up to the specified number of place settings for efficiency.
- Page 32: For better washing results and to maintain drying results, place parts with bulges and depressions at an angle to allow water to drain away. Do not place any small parts in the tab collecting tray and do not block it with dishes so as not to block the lid of the detergent compartment. Remove any coarse food residue from the dishes. To save resources, do not pre-rinse the dishes under running water. Hot dishes can cause burns to the skin and are sensitive to impact, which can lead to injuries. Put heavily soiled dishes in the lower dish rack for better washing results. After the end of the program, let the dishes cool down a little before removing them. To avoid water droplets falling on the dishes, empty the dishes from bottom to top. Store cutlery with the pointed and sharp side facing down to avoid injuries. Check the washing container and accessories for dirt and clean if necessary.
