5.3. Fill the salt
5.1. Preparing your
dishwasher for first use
Please follow the steps below for adding dishwasher salt:
•
Make sure the electricity and supply
water specifications match the
values indicated in the installation
instructions for the machine.
•
Remove all packaging material
inside the machine.
1. Remove the lower basket and unscrew the reservoir cap.
2. Place the end of the funnel (if supplied) into the hole and pour in
about 1.5 kg of dishwasher salt.
•
•
Set the water softener level.
Fill the rinse aid compartment.
3. Fill the salt container to its maximum limit with water, It is normal
for a small amount of water to come out of the salt container.
5.2 Salt usage
4. After filling the container, screw back the cap tightly.
For a good washing function, the dishwasher
needs soft, i.e. less calcareous water.
The salt warning light will turn off after the salt container has been
filled with salt.
5.
Otherwise, White lime residues will remain on
the dishes and the interior equipment. This will
negatively affect your machine’s washing,
drying and shining performance. When water
flows through the softener system, the ions
forming the hardness are removed from the
water and the water reaches the softness
required to obtain the best washing result.
Depending on the level of hardness of the
inflowing water, these ions that harden the
water accumulate rapidly inside the softener
system. Therefore, the softener system has to
be refreshed so that it operates with the same
performance also during the next wash. For
this purpose, dishwasher salt is used.
6. Immediately after filling the salt into the salt container, a washing
program should be started (recommend to use a short program).
Otherwise the filter system, pump or other important parts of the
machine may be damaged by salty water. This is out of warranty.
NOTE:
The salt container must only be refilled when the salt
) in the control panel comes on. Depending on
warning light (
how well the salt dissolves, the salt warning light may still be on
even though the salt container is filled.
If there is no salt warning light in the control panel (for some
models), you can estimate when to fill the salt into the softener by
the cycles that the dishwasher has run.
If salt has spilled, run a soak or quick program to remove it.
Machine can only be used by special
dishwasher salt to soften the water. Do not use
any small grained or powdered type of salts
which can easily soluble. Using any other type
of salt can damage your machine.
If you require any technical guidance or find that your product is not operating as intended, a simple solution can often be found in the Troubleshooting section of these instructions,
