- Page 2: WARNING: Tip over hazard. Do not use dishwasher until completely installed. Do not push down on open door. Doing so can result in serious injury or cuts. The dishwasher must be grounded. Grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock. For a grounded, cord-connected dishwasher, check with a qualified electrician if in doubt about grounding. Rinse aid is essential for good drying performance. The filtration system minimizes sound and optimizes water and energy conservation. To avoid damage, do not operate your dishwasher without filters properly installed. Energy efficiency is gained by extending cycle time and reducing wattage and water usage. The filters may need to be cleaned when visible objects or soils are present. Press start/resume every time you add a dish.
- Page 3: Recommended detergent has been reformulated to limit phosphorus in household dishwasher detergents to no more than 0.5%. It is recommended to use tablets and packs for convenience and improved performance. Prepare and load the dishwasher by ensuring all arms spin freely and removing leftover food and hard items from dishes. Make sure no items block the detergent dispenser when the dishwasher door is closed. Add detergent just before starting a cycle and use automatic dishwasher detergent only. Items should be loaded with soiled surfaces facing down and inward to improve cleaning and drying results. Avoid overlapping items that may trap food and wash only items marked “dishwasher safe.” Premeasured detergents are suitable for all hardness and soil levels and should be placed in the main compartment. Using dishwasher detergent tablets and packs has been proven better at reducing filming on dishes compared to other forms. Using a rinse aid can minimize the buildup of white film over time.
- Page 4: For most water conditions, the factory setting will give good results. The amount of detergent to use depends on the soil level and water hardness. Check water hardness level to ensure no rings or spots on dishware before adding rinse aid. Heavily soiled loads require more detergent. If you are experiencing poor drying performance, you may want to try a higher setting. Your dishwasher is designed to use rinse aid for good drying performance. Rinse aid keeps water from forming droplets that can dry as spots or streaks. To add rinse aid, turn the dispenser cap to “Refill” and lift off. If anyone opens the door, the START/RESUME button must be pressed each time. This information covers several different models; your dishwasher may not have all of the cycles and options described.
- Page 5: Dries dishes with heat. This option, with the use of rinse aid, will provide the best drying results. Use Heat Dry for optimum drying performance or turn the Heat Dry option off for air dry. Runs dishwasher at a later time. Press 4-HOUR DELAY. Delays start of a cycle up to 4 hours. Control Lock avoids unintended use of dishwasher between cycles. To turn on Control Lock, press and hold 4 HOUR DELAY for 3 seconds. Press to start or resume a wash cycle. The Clean indicator glows when a cycle is finished. Clean the exterior of dishwasher with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Page 6: Problem solver First try the solutions suggested here. If you experience issues with the dishwasher not running or stopping during a cycle, check if the door is closed tightly and latched, if the right cycle is selected, and if there is power to the dishwasher. If the motor stops due to an overload, it will automatically reset itself within a few minutes. Check if the water shutoff valve is turned on and ensure the overfill protection float can move freely. If the clean light is flashing, check for suds in the dishwasher, which can prevent proper operation. Dishes not drying completely may require the use of rinse aid along with the heat dry option. Proper loading of items can affect drying; unload the bottom rack first for better results. Surging sounds can occur while the dishwasher is draining, and normal water valve hissing may be heard. Improper installation can affect noise levels; ensure filters are properly installed. A thumping sound may indicate that items are interfering with the wash arms and need to be readjusted.
- Page 7: If you experience spotting/filming, liquid rinse aid is necessary for drying and to reduce spotting. Use the correct amount of detergent. Confirm that the cloudiness is removable by soaking the item in white vinegar for 5 minutes. Be sure the incoming water temperature is set at 120°F (49°C). To remove spotting, run a vinegar rinse through the dishwasher. Be sure the dishwasher is loaded correctly. Check filter to ensure it is properly installed. Select the proper cycle for the type of soils. If foam or suds are detected, the dishwasher may not operate properly. Be sure the cycle has been completed for proper drainage. Check for kinks in the drain hose.
