  • Page 2: Safety and warnings Electric shock hazard Failure to follow this advice may result in electrical shock or death. Fitting an integrated panel requires access to electrical service areas. This must be performed by a Fisher & Paykel trained and supported service technician or qualified person. Improper connection of the equipment-earthing conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Before fitting the front panel, the dishwasher must be disconnected from the power supply. After installing the front panel, the installer must ensure that the panel bracket and any custom metal component are electrically earthed. Cut hazard Failure to use caution could result in injury. This appliance must be earthed.
  • Page 3: Safety and warnings To reduce the risk of fire, injury to persons or damage when using the appliance, follow the important safety instructions listed below. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance unless specifically recommended in this guide. Installation of this DishDrawer™ Dishwasher requires basic mechanical and electrical skills. Installation must comply with your local building and electricity regulations. Ensure all water connections are turned off. The DishDrawer™ Dishwasher must be installed to allow for future removal from the enclosure if service is required. The switched power outlet must be outside the dishwasher cavity, so that it is accessible after installation. Failure to install correctly could invalidate any warranty or liability claims. If the product is installed in a motor vehicle, boat or similar mobile facility, you must bring the vehicle, boat or mobile facility containing the product to the service shop at your expense. Save these instructions.

  • Page 7: Product and cabinetry overview includes various components such as bridge trim, lens cover, assisted opening unit, spacer, fixed shelf, base cabinet, custom drawer panel, striker plate, and dishdrawer. Side cabinets are for reference only. The bridge trim must be removable to allow servicing. Alternate cabinetry construction is possible.
  • Page 8: Cabinetry dimensions - standard install Minimum overall cavity Minimum cavity height from top of spacers Inside cavity width Minimum inside cavity depth Minimum height of spacers Minimum width of spacers Nominal height of fixed shelf Minimum toe kick height Fixed shelf set back from front of cabinetry carcass
  • Page 9: Cabinetry dimensions are crucial for proper installation. Bridge trim must be removable to allow servicing of the AOA unit. Minimum clearance to adjacent cupboard door is specified. Minimum height of bridge trim is 37 mm. Width of bridge trim is defined. Minimum clearance to corner cupboard is 13 mm. Access to both sides of the product is required during installation. Refer to page 19 for guidance on drawer removal. Width of cutout is 102 mm. Corner radii of cutouts should be a maximum of 23 mm.
  • Page 10: Custom panel dimensions are outlined for standard installation. The maximum weight of the panel must not exceed 9kg, including the handle. The panel should be adequately sealed to withstand moisture at 50°C and 80% relative humidity. A waterproof vapor barrier, such as polyurethane, is recommended to prevent damage. The back of the panel must be completely flush to maintain the seal with the rubber trim. Installation outside these specifications may lead to condensation on cabinetry surfaces. Minimum panel height from the top of the chassis is 509mm. Minimum clearance between the top of the door panel and the countertop is 2mm. The assisted opening accessory can only travel 60mm, and door thickness may affect usability. Clearance must be maintained around the perimeter of the drawer panel.
  • Page 11: Plumbing and electrical considerations are important for installation. Services can be installed on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the product. Drain hoses can be extended with a Fisher & Paykel drain hose extension kit if necessary. Recommended water temperature for connection is cold, with a maximum of 60°C. Water pressure requirements vary for water softener and non-water softener models. Electrical requirements include a voltage range of 220V to 240V and a minimum of 4.2A. The installation requires two total outlets for proper operation. Minimum distances from the floor to various connections must be adhered to. Assisted opening specifications include a voltage of 220V, 50Hz, and 10A. Dimensions for service access should be taken from the chassis edge where applicable.
  • Page 12: Cabinetry preparation is essential for proper installation. Service access is necessary for maintenance and operation. Moisture protection should be applied to cabinetry surfaces. Service holes can be created on either side of the DishDrawer™ Dishwasher cavity. Ensure edges are smooth and rounded if the hole is created through wood. Fit the supplied edge protector if the hole is created through metal. Align the supplied moisture protection tape to the cabinetry as illustrated. Ensure the area is free of debris before applying the tape. Connections can be located in an adjacent cabinet on either side of the DishDrawer™ Dishwasher. Service hole dimensions include maximum distances and minimum diameter specifications.
  • Page 13: External venting preparation is necessary to prevent condensation buildup in the DishDrawer™ Dishwasher. The external venting kit can be installed through the same cabinet, adjacent cabinet, or floor. A toe kick height of at least 100mm is required for certain installations. A Ø57mm service hole must be created through the side wall and the base of the cavity to route the venting hose. Frameless cabinetry requires a 100mm x 200mm cutout in the base for duct securing. Framed cabinetry requires a toe kick depth of at least 60mm and a 100mm x 200mm cutout set back from the frame edge. There is no minimum toe kick height for venting through the floor, but adequate airflow is necessary. Ensure all cutout edges are smooth and rounded, and fit the supplied edge protector if required. The duct is not required for venting through the floor method. Ensure the cutout in the floor is sealed adequately.
  • Page 14: Install assisted opening accessory. Connect the comms cable to the accessory. Route the accessory power cord from the rear of the cabinetry. Measure and mark the centre of the cabinetry. Align the accessory and mark the position of the rear shoulder bolts. Pre-drill pilot hole at a 45° angle using the accessory as a guide. Fit the front screw through the pilot hole using a Phillips screwdriver. Pre-drill 2 x rear pilot holes using the accessory as a guide. Remove accessory before securing 2 x shoulder bolts through pilot holes. Connect power cord to accessory before routing the power cord through strain relief bracket.
  • Page 15: Fit the venting hose to the DishDrawer™ dishwasher. Prepare external venting. Trim the duct. Rotate the elbow at the rear of the product to either the left or right depending on your venting location. Unscrew the top cover from the vent and set aside. Push the vent hose onto the elbow firmly to secure. On a protected surface, carefully cut and remove the clips from the vent as shown. If securing via bracket method, secure all four side brackets to the DishDrawer™ dishwasher. Ensure the ends of the brackets are not pushed into the chassis. Push the product into the cavity, while feeding the hoses and cables through holes in cabinetry.
  • Page 16: Secure the venting hose to cabinetry. Venting through cabinetry. Fit the custom panel. Measure the distance between the base of the dishdrawer chassis and the base of the cavity. A 2mm clearance is required between the base of the door panel and cabinetry below. Route the venting hose to the cutout and push onto the duct firmly to secure. Remove both side pins by twisting a quarter-turn towards the product front. Venting through floor. Route the venting hose through the floor. Secure the bracket to the panel using a minimum of 3 screws on either side.
  • Page 17: Fit the custom panel. Check depth. Ensure the Knock-to-Pause module is oriented correctly and is not in contact with the bracket before securing. Ensure there is a minimum 2mm clearance gap between the rear of the custom drawer panel and front of cabinetry carcass. Clearances are required to ensure the door fully compresses against the seal on the DishDrawer™ chassis. If the clearance is not included in the design, the door may not seal and result in humidity escaping from the product and cabinetry damage. To earth the panel bracket, connect the earth wire from the product to one of the tabs. Reconnect the Knock-to-Pause module to the UI 1 slot on the wash controller. Insert a Phillips screwdriver into the hole above the side pin and rotate to adjust the panel alignment. Ensure the minimum vertical clearance gap of 2mm is maintained.
  • Page 18: Secure to cabinetry via brackets or drawer removal. Open the drawer and press both locking tabs back to release. Partially open the drawer and remove the first screw cover from the trim moulding. Lift the drawer off the runners and carefully set aside on a protected surface. Push runners back in and take care not to pull the drawer out too far. Secure to cabinetry via the brackets, pre-drilling a pilot hole if necessary. Secure to cabinetry via all three fixing locations in the chassis. Ensure sound insulation is replaced correctly. Replace the trim cover and repeat for the remaining brackets. Before refitting the drawer, ensure the hoses are not twisted.
  • Page 19: Install striker plate. Remove the adhesive from the striker. Fit accessory cabinetry housing and slot cover in place. Ensure the V notch on striker plate aligns with arrow on the accessory. Close the door and apply pressure to secure. Open the door and fit 2x screws to the striker plate. Plug in Assisted Opening Accessory, turn on power. Knock on the door twice to open drawer slightly. The door will remain ajar for four seconds. Pull door to open fully.
  • Page 20: Plumbing & electrical connection Sink trap/waste tee installation Install the drain hose support to the back wall, as close to the underside of the benchtop as possible. Refer to 'Plumbing & electrical considerations' for minimum install heights. Ensure the hose does not extend any further than 120mm into the standpipe to prevent waste water from siphoning back into the tub. Do not shorten the inlet hose. Unplug or drill out the waste tee before securing joiner to sink trap or waste tee. Ensure the supplied rubber washer is fitted to the coupling before connecting the inlet hose to tap. Hand-tighten into place and use a spanner or pliers to turn a further 180˚ to secure. Avoid over-tightening. The DishDrawer™ Dishwasher must be powered on for the flood protection feature to be enabled.
  • Page 21: Installer checklist to be completed by the installer includes several key areas of focus. Ensure all electrical tests have been conducted in accordance with local regulations. Check all parts are installed correctly and are secure. Ensure DishDrawer™ Dishwasher is secure and drawer opens and closes freely with no resistance. Check the Assisted Opening Accessory works by knocking on the door. Ensure any packaging or tape securing the racks and spray arm is removed. After the rinse cycle has finished, ensure the dishwasher has run and drained correctly. Check drainage connections for leaks. Ensure inlet hose has supplied rubber washer fitted, and that it’s tightened. If site is left without power after installation is complete, ensure water supply is turned off to prevent flooding. Ensure water supply is turned off until power is connected and turned on.
  • Page 22: Troubleshooting No program indicator lights up when the drawer is opened. Ensure power is connected and is switched on. Water supply fault. Ensure the water supply is turned on. Drawer doesn’t close properly. Ensure nothing is obstructing the drawer from closing. Drawer cannot drain. Ensure the drainage hose and connection to pipes are not blocked. Water appears around water supply and drain connections. Check hoses, connections and existing plumbing for leaks. Product is tipping. Ensure the product is secured to the cabinetry. The spray arm has loosened or come off its mounting. Open the drawer and check the spray arm. If a problem occurs that is not listed, refer to your user guide for additional troubleshooting.
