  • Page 4: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Always use caution when opening the door during or following a wash cycle as hot water or steam may escape. Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for two weeks or more. Before using a dishwasher that is connected to a hot water system that has been unused for two weeks or longer, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. To avoid floor damage and possible mold growth, do not allow wet areas to remain around or under the dishwasher. It is highly recommended for the end user to become familiar with the procedure to shut off the incoming water supply and the procedure to shut off the incoming power supply. Only use the appliance in enclosed residential space according to the installation manual. Do not allow children to play in or on the dishwasher. • Page 9: Dishwasher cycles overview The running time may vary depending on the cycle selected. The consumption values relate to normal conditions and a water hardness of 16 - 20 °E. Auto cycle is optimized by sensors depending on the soiling of the rinse water. Eco cycle is the most economical cycle for cleaning mixed dishware and silverware. Glass Care cycle is particularly gentle for temperature-sensitive dishes and glasses. Quick Wash cycle is time-optimized for delicate dishware and lightly adhering fresh food remnants. Energy Guide label was based on the Normal soil sensing cycle. The unit was tested without any rinse aid in the rinse aid dispenser. You can save a combination of a cycle and an option using the personalization function. The selected cycle and option combination can be saved via the Home Connect app or on the appliance.
  • Page 10: The pre-rinse cycle is pre-programmed to this button and is fine for all types of dishware. The dishware is rinsed with cold water. Arrange cups, glasses, and small tableware items in the top rack. You can use the Home Connect app to download additional cycles and options and save them. To save personalization function on the appliance, open the appliance door and press the relevant buttons. Here is an overview of the different options available on your dishwasher. You can adjust the height of the upper rack to make room for larger items. For a better drying result, the final rinse temperature is increased and the drying phase extended. The spray pressure in the lower rack is increased and the maximum program temperature held longer. An option can be added to the cycle before it starts or at any time when the cycle is running. You can find an overview of the possible features of your appliance and how to use them here.
  • Page 11: Features Raise or lower the rack evenly to the right level. Large plates up to a diameter of 13 inches can be arranged in the lower rack. Check that the rack is level on both sides. Release the levers. The rack clicks into position. Slide the rack in. Arrange the silverware in the silverware basket, ensuring that the items are not nestled together and with the sharp points down. Arrange pans and plates in the lower rack. The sharp points and edges of knives and other sharp utensils can cause serious injury. Load knives and other sharp utensils with edges down.
  • Page 12: Features To fold down the front tines, push the lever forward. Arrange silverware in the silverware drawer. If you want to return the cutlery tray to its original position, fold the side shelf upward until it clicks into position. Arrange silverware with the points and sharp edges down. You can reorganize the silverware drawer to make more space for longer or wider utensils. Fold down the side shelves and front tines to provide more space for longer or wider cutlery items. To fold down a side shelf, push the lever forward and fold down the side shelf. Use the cup shelf and the space underneath for small cups and glasses or for large items of silverware. If you do not need the cup shelf, you can fold it up.

If you no longer require the baking sheet spray head, remove it from the appliance. Insert the upper rack in the appliance.
  • Page 14: Before using for the first time Set the racks at the right height. Appliance height 34 with silverware basket. You can change the settings for initial use and other basic settings on the appliance at any time or using the Home Connect® app on your mobile device. Before the first use or after a factory reset, you will need to configure the settings. Connect your appliance to a mobile device. Start the program with the highest cleaning temperature without dishware. To ensure good dishwashing results, you can treat the water with special salt and the water softening system. To avoid damage to the appliance, water with a hardness above 9 °E must be softened. You can find an overview of the water hardness values that can be selected here. You can find out how hard your water is from your local water company or by using a water hardness tester.
  • Page 15: Rinse aid system Set the water hardness determined on your appliance. With a water hardness of 0 - 8 °E you can dispense with special salt for dishwashers and switch off the water softening system. Only use special salt specified for dishwashers. Do not use salt tablets or table salt. You can use special dishwasher salt to soften the water. If you do not need to use the water softening system, you can turn the system off. The amount of special dishwasher salt required depends on the water hardness. To avoid damage to the appliance, only switch off the water softening system in specific cases. Only fill the dispenser of the water softening system with special dishwasher salt. For optimum drying results, use rinse aid. If the display shows Please add rinse aid, add rinse aid.
  • Page 16: Press the catch on the lid of the dispenser for rinse aid and lift. If you choose not to use rinse aid, you can turn the rinse aid system off. Rinse aid within a combination detergent has limited effectiveness. Only use detergents that are made for dishwashers, either basic or combination detergents. For the best washing and drying results, use a separate detergent, then add special salt and rinse aid separately. Modern, powerful detergents mainly use a low-alkaline formulation with enzymes. Tabs are perfect for all cleaning functions and do not need to be measured out. Powder detergent is recommended for shorter cycles. Liquid detergent works faster and is recommended for shorter cycles without a pre-rinse. If there are streaks or water spots on dishware, change the amount of rinse aid.
  • Page 17: Add the detergent to the dry detergent dispenser. Do not use a detergent which is not designated for dishwasher use or contains chlorine. Liquid hand soap can cause increased frothing and damage the appliance. Detergents marked as ecological generally contain lower levels of active agents or none at all. Adjust the rinse aid and the water softening system settings in accordance with the detergent in use. Combination detergents with salt replacement substances can only be used up to a certain water hardness without adding special salt. If you are using tablets, one is enough. Insert the tablets in a horizontal position. 1.5 to 1.75 tbsp (20 ml – 25 ml) detergent is sufficient for normal soiling. Any rinse aid component of a combination detergent has limited effectiveness. To open the detergent dispenser, press the locking latch.
  • Page 18: Dishware Loading dishware Arrange dishware correctly to optimize the dishwashing result and prevent damage to both dishware and the appliance. Only wash dishware that is suitable for dishwashers. Decorated glassware and parts made of aluminum or silver may fade or discolor with dishwashing. Avoid dishwasher damage: Do not load the dishwasher with paper products, plastic bags, packing materials or anything other than normal, dishwasher safe dishware and kitchenware. Only put glasses and china in the dishwasher if they are labeled dishwasher-safe. Using the appliance allows you to save energy and water compared to doing dishes by hand. For better washing and drying results, position items with curves or recesses at an angle so water can run off. Remove large remnants of food from dishware. Do not block the spray arms - make sure that they can turn freely. Do not place small parts in the collecting tray and do not block it with dishware so as not to obstruct the lid of the detergent dispenser.
  • Page 19: Dishware Removing dishware Dishes can be very hot immediately after the cycle ends. Open the door slightly and allow dishes to cool for a few minutes before unloading. To prevent water dripping onto dishware, unload it starting at the bottom and working up. Check the washing tank and accessories for soiling and clean if necessary.
