Hotpoint H2IHKD526UK Dishwasher Overview

Summary of Contents

  • Page 1: Thank you for buying a Hotpoint product. In order to receive more complete assistance, please register your appliance on the website. You can download the Safety Instructions and the User Manual by visiting our website. Before using the appliance, carefully read the Safety Instructions guide. Product description includes various components such as the upper rack, lower rack, cutlery basket, and spray arms. The control panel features buttons for ON-OFF/Reset, program selection, and indicators for salt and rinse aid. The control panel also includes a display, half load indicator lights, and a delay button. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the appliance parts and control panel for optimal use.
  • Page 2: First time use involves filling the rinse aid dispenser and salt reservoir. Rinse aid makes dish drying easier and should be filled when the rinse aid refill indicator light is lit. The use of salt prevents the formation of limescale on dishes and machine components. It is mandatory that the salt reservoir never be empty. The salt reservoir must be filled when the salt refill indicator light is lit. Adjusting the dosage of rinse aid can improve drying results. The water hardness setting should be based on the actual water hardness in your house. If the rinse aid level is set to zero, no rinse aid will be supplied. The detergent dispenser should only be filled with detergent specifically designed for dishwashers. Using salt is recommended with any type of dishwasher detergent to prevent damage from limescale accumulation.
  • Page 3: Programs table outlines various wash programs, their durations, water consumption, energy consumption, and available options. Eco program is the most efficient for normally soiled tableware, assessed under EU Ecodesign legislation. Intensive program is recommended for heavily soiled crockery, especially pans and saucepans. Mixed program is suitable for normally soiled dishes with dried food residues. Fast Wash&Dry program ensures optimal cleaning and drying performance in a shorter time. Rapid 28’ program is for half load of lightly-soiled dishes and does not include a drying phase. Good Night program operates at low noise emission for night-time use. Sanitizing program includes an additional antibacterial wash for normally or heavily soiled crockery. Soak program refreshes crockery planned for later washing without detergent. Self-Clean program is for dishwasher maintenance when the appliance is empty, using specific detergents.
  • Page 4: Options can be selected directly by pressing the corresponding button. If an option is not compatible with the selected program, the corresponding LED flashes rapidly 3 times and beeps will sound. A half load cycle may be used to save water, electricity, and detergent. Press the HALF LOAD button to deselect this option and remember to halve the amount of detergent. This setting allows you to optimize the performance of the program according to the type of detergent used. Press the START/PAUSE button for 3 seconds if you use combined detergents in tablet form. The start time of the program may be delayed for a period of time between 1 and 12 hours. Press the DELAY button to increase the time from the start of the selected wash cycle. To cancel the delay, press the button repeatedly until the selected delayed start indicator light switches off. The DELAY function cannot be set once a wash cycle has been started.
  • Page 5: Loading the racks involves specific guidelines for the upper and lower racks. The upper rack is designed for delicate and light dishes such as glasses, cups, and low salad bowls. The lower rack is suitable for pots, lids, plates, salad bowls, and cutlery. Large plates and lids should be placed at the sides to avoid interference with the spray arm. The height of the upper rack can be adjusted to accommodate bulky crockery or to create more space upwards. The cutlery basket should only be positioned at the front of the lower rack, with sharp utensils facing downwards. It is recommended not to adjust the height of the rack when it is loaded. Never raise or lower the basket on one side only. The side foldable flaps can be adjusted to optimize the arrangement of crockery inside the rack. Wine glasses can be safely placed in the foldable flaps by inserting the stem into the corresponding slots.
  • Page 6: Daily use Check water connection The machine will switch off automatically during certain extended periods of inactivity to minimize electricity consumption. Check that the dishwasher is connected to the water supply and that the tap is open. Switch on the dishwasher Open the door and press the ON/OFF button. Load the racks If a wrong program was selected, it is possible to change it, provided that it has only just begun. Choose the program and customize the cycle Select the most appropriate program in accordance with the type of crockery and its soiling level. Start Without switching off the machine, open the door and place the crockery inside the dishwasher. End of wash cycle The end of the wash cycle is indicated by beeps and by the flashing of the wash cycle number on the display. Advice and tips Before loading the baskets, remove all food residues from the crockery and empty the glasses. Tips on energy saving Washing tableware in a dishwasher usually consumes less energy and water than hand dishwashing. Unsuitable crockery Wooden crockery and cutlery, delicate decorated glasses, and parts in synthetic material which do not withstand high temperatures are not suitable for the dishwasher. Hygiene To avoid odour and sediment, please run a high temperature program at least once a month.
  • Page 7: Care and maintenance Cleaning the filter assembly Regularly clean the filter assembly to prevent clogging. Check the spray arms occasionally for food residue. Using the dishwasher with clogged filters may cause malfunction. The filter assembly consists of three filters that remove food residues. Check the filter assembly at least once per month. Water softening system automatically reduces water hardness. Regeneration of the water softener occurs based on water hardness level. Single regeneration consumes approximately 3.5L of water. Clean the water inlet hose to ensure it is free of impurities.
  • Page 8: Troubleshooting In case your dishwasher doesn’t work properly, check if the problem can be solved by going through the following list. For other errors or issues please contact authorized After-sales Service. Spare parts will be available for a period of either up to 7 or up to 10 years. Salt indicator is lit. Refill reservoir with salt. Rinse aid indicator is lit. Refill dispenser with rinse aid. The appliance has not been plugged in properly. Insert the plug into the socket. The dishwasher won’t start or does not respond to commands. Open dishwasher door, press START/Pause button. The dishwasher won’t drain. Check that the drain hose is not bent. The dishes are not clean. The detergent has not been measured out correctly or it is not suitable for use in dishwashers. The dishwasher finishes the cycle prematurely. Check if the end of the drain hose is placed at the correct height.
