■ Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a  

hot water system that has not been used for two weeks or  

more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system  

has not been used for such a period, before using the  

dishwasher turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow  

from each for several minutes. This will release any  

1) Locate sharp items so that they are not likely to damage the  

door seal; and  

2) Load sharp knives with the handles up to reduce the risk of  

cut-type injuries.

• Page 2: WARNING: Do not use dishwasher until completely installed. Do not push down on open door as it can result in serious injury or cuts. The dishwasher must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician if in doubt about proper grounding. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Your dishwasher has the latest technology in dishwasher filtration. You can raise or lower the top rack to fit tall items in either the top or bottom rack. To avoid damage, do not operate your dishwasher without filters properly installed. Rinse aid is essential for good drying performance. Silverware Spray helps remove stuck-on food by delivering a concentrated shower of water.
• Page 3: Energy efficiency is gained by extending cycle time and reducing the amount of wattage and water used during your dishwasher’s cycle. Press start/resume every time you add a dish. If anyone opens the door, start/resume must be pressed each time. Several models contain an optical water sensor used to determine water and energy consumption for great cleaning performance. Remove leftover food, bones, toothpicks, and other hard items from dishes. Use automatic dishwasher detergent only and add just before starting a cycle. Items should be loaded with soiled surfaces facing down and inward to the spray. Avoid overlapping items like bowls or plates that may trap food. Your dishwasher is designed to use rinse aid for good drying performance. The AnyWare™ Silverware Basket can sit in the door for completely usable rack space.
• Page 4: Rinse aid keeps water from forming droplets that can dry as spots or streaks. It also improves drying by allowing water to drain off of dishes after the final rinse. You can customize your cycles by pressing the options desired. If you change your mind, press the option again to turn it off. To add rinse aid, turn the dispenser cap counterclockwise and lift off. Pour rinse aid into the opening until the indicator level is at “Full.” The full lit display will glow for wash, drain, drying, sanitized, and clean. It will also display the remaining time for the cycle in hours and minutes. Check water hardness level to ensure there are no rings or spots on your dishware before adding rinse aid or adjusting the factory setting. If you are experiencing poor drying performance, you may want to try a higher setting. Efficient dishwashers run longer to save water and energy. Typical cycle time is approximately 2½ hours, but can take less or more time to complete depending on selections. If anyone opens the door, the Start/Resume button must be pressed each time. This information covers several different models. Your dishwasher may not have all of the cycles and options described. The most advanced and versatile cycle senses load size, soil amount, and toughness of soil to adjust the cycle for optimal cleaning using only the amount of water and energy needed.
• Page 5: Activates the TargetClean™ spray jets and provides intensified water spray to the back of the lower level rack. Raises main wash temperature from 105°F (41°C) to 120°F (49°C) to improve cleaning for loads containing tough, baked-on food. Sanitizes dishes and glassware in accordance with NSF International NSF/ANSI Standard 184 for residential dishwashers. The Sani indicator indicates at the end of the cycle whether the Sani Rinse option was successfully completed. Dries dishes with heat. This option, with the use of rinse aid, will provide the best drying performance. Runs dishwasher at a later time. Select a wash cycle and options. Delays start of a cycle up to 24 hours. To turn on Lock, press and hold SANI RINSE/CONTROL LOCK or DELAY for 3 seconds. Press to start or resume a wash cycle. The Clean indicator glows when a cycle is finished.

Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent, using a stainless steel cleaner for stainless steel exteriors. Use a monthly maintenance product like affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner to remove hard water filming. During vacation or extended periods without use, load the dishwasher and turn off the water and power supply. Protect water supply lines against freezing conditions to prevent damage. Use a premeasured detergent tablet for regular daily use. Winterize the dishwasher to avoid water damage when storing it. For troubleshooting, check if the door is closed tightly and if the correct cycle is selected. Ensure the water supply is turned on and check for suds that may affect operation.
• Page 7: If you experience issues with your dishwasher, consider the following recommended solutions. Dishes do not dry completely due to the porous surface of plastic and nonstick items. Use rinse aid along with the Heat Dry option for proper drying. Proper loading of items can affect drying. Glasses and cups with concave bottoms may hold water, so unload the bottom rack first. Common noises include surging sounds during draining and normal water valve hissing. Improper installation can affect noise levels. Liquid rinse aid is necessary to reduce spotting and filming. Confirm cloudiness is removable by soaking in white vinegar. Ensure the dishwasher is loaded correctly to improve cleaning performance. Select the proper cycle for the type of soils. Check the filter to ensure it is properly installed and clean if needed. Use the correct amount of fresh detergent for the load. If the dishwasher does not drain, ensure the cycle has been completed and check for kinks in the drain hose. Check for food obstructions in the drain or disposer and verify your house fuse or circuit breaker.
