GETTING STARTED
Water supplies with a hardness level higher than 5 gpg (9°
f) need to be softened.
PREPARING YOUR DISHWASHER FOR FIRST USE
If the hardness level of the water that you use is above 53
gpg (90° f) or if you are using well water, then we
recommend using filter and water purification devices.

Make sure the electricity and supply water specifications
match the values indicated in the installation instructions
for the machine.
The dishwasher is preset at level 1 (inactive) water
hardness. If this setting matches the hardness of your
water, you do not need to do anything else. The dishwasher
must be programmed for the water hardness of your area.

Remove all packaging material inside the machine.
Set the water softener level according to the instructions
in this manual (depending on model).

Set the rinse-aid dosage according to the instructions in
this manual.
To find out the water hardness level of your area, contact
your local Water Board, or determine the water hardness
level using the test strip provided.
SETTING THE WATER SOFTENER (DEPENDING ON
MODEL)
WARNING
The dishwasher needs soft water for good cleaning results.
Hard water results in a build-up of limescale deposits on
dishware and in the dishwasher. Your dishwasher has a
special water softening system to remove tap water
hardness. Setting this system correctly will increase
washing effectiveness.
If you move to a different location, the water
hardness level could be different. It is
essential to reset the water hardness in
order to obtain optimum washing efficiency.
Follow the steps in the image when using the test strip.

NOTE
The level is set to 1 as default. If the water
is well water or has a hardness level above
90 dF, we recommend using filter and
refinement devices.
