- Page 14: Preparation Tips for energy saving Adjusting the water softening system Following information will help you use the product in an ecological and energy-efficient manner. Cleaning, rinsing and drying performance of your dishwasher will increase when the water softening system is adjusted properly. Adjust the new water hardness level according to the water hardness level instruction in this booklet. Wipe away any coarse food remnants on the dishes before putting them in the product. Operate the product after filling it completely. Use the test strip supplied with the product to determine the hardness level of your supply water. Water softening system Your dishwasher requires soft water.
- Page 15: Preparation Remove the test strip from the packet. Turn on the tap and let the water run for about a minute. Hold the test strip in the water for about a second. Wait for 1 minute. The test strip shows you the hardness level. After determining the hardness level of the supply water, keep the Start/Pause/Cancel key pressed and turn the Programme Selection key to position “1” within 5 seconds. Regeneration level in the memory will be illuminated for 5 seconds when the regenerator adjustment mode is activated. To adjust the new water hardness level, move the Programme Selection key to the position that is suitable for your supply water. Press Start/Pause/Cancel key once to store the level you have selected. If the hardness level of the supply water is above 90 °dF or if you are using well water, it is recommended to use water purification devices and special filters. If the hardness level of the supply water is below 13°dF, there is no need to use salt in your dishwasher.
- Page 16: Preparation If you move your house, it is necessary to readjust the water hardness level of your machine. Your machine will display the most recently adjusted water hardness level. The water softening system needs to be regenerated for continuous performance. Dishwasher salt is used for this purpose. Use only special softening salts produced for dishwashers. Do not use salts that are insoluble in water such as table salt or common salt. Before initial use, fill the water softening system with 1 litre of water. Take the lower basket out to add softening salt. Turn the salt reservoir lid counterclockwise to open it. Fill the salt reservoir with salt using the appropriate method.
- Page 17: Preparation Only use the detergents produced particularly for use with dishwashers. Never use washing up liquids. We recommend you not to use detergents that contain chlorine and phosphate as they are harmful for the environment. Refer to the “Programme Table” to determine the correct amount of detergent for the selected programme. You can put about 2 kg of dishwasher salt into the salt reservoir. Always follow the instructions on the detergent packaging. If you will not start a washing programme immediately after adding the salt, run the machine empty in the shortest programme to dissolve and wash away the scattered salt in the machine. Do not put solvents into the detergent dispenser. Loose salt grains can cause rust marks in your machine if not rinsed away. You can use powder, liquid/gel and tablet detergents in the machine.
- Page 18: Preparation Put the suggested amount of powder, liquid/gel or tablet detergent in the dispenser. Inside the detergent dispenser, there are level markings that help you use the appropriate amount of detergent. When brimful, the detergent dispenser will contain 40 cm³ of detergent. Fill detergent up to 15 cm³ or 25 cm³ level marks in the detergent dispenser according to fullness of the machine and/or soiling degree of the dishes. Use powder detergent in short programmes without prewash since the solubility of the tablet detergent changes depending on the temperature and time. Excessive usage of powder detergents will cause the detergent not to dissolve completely and will also cause scratches on the glassware. Combined tablet detergents exhibit water softening and/or rinse aid effect in addition to detergent effect. Some types of these detergents also contain special-purpose washing chemicals such as glass and stainless steel protectors. Combined tablet detergents are available as 3in1, 5in1, Allin1 etc. They function only up to a specific degree of water hardness. Refer to the instructions on the packaging of the combined detergent whether it is suitable for the hardness level of the water supply.
- Page 19: Preparation The best washing performance in dishwashers is obtained by using detergent, rinse aid, and water softening salt individually. When switching to powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergent from a combined tablet detergent, ensure that salt and rinse aid reservoirs are full. Set the water hardness to the highest level and perform an empty run. After the empty washing cycle, review the user manual and readjust the water hardness level to suit the water supply. Make the appropriate rinse aid settings. Depending on the model, salt indicator and/or rinse aid indicator must be enabled again if they were disabled before. Turn the rinse aid amount adjuster manually to a position between 1 and 6 (4). Rinse aid used in dishwashers is a special combination to increase drying efficiency and prevent water or limescale stains. Care must be taken to have rinse aid in the reservoir and to use rinse aids produced specifically for dishwashers. Wipe clean any spilled rinse aid outside the reservoir, as it can cause foaming and decrease washing performance.
- Page 20: Preparation Items not suitable for washing in the dishwasher include smaller, delicate, and light items in the upper basket. Never wash dishes soiled by cigarette ash, candle remnants, polish, dyestuff, chemicals, etc. in your dishwasher. Do not wash iron alloy items in the dishwasher as they can get corroded or leave stains on other items. Place hollowed dishes such as bowls, glasses, and pans upside down in the dishwasher to prevent water accumulation. Always place sharp and pointed dishes such as forks and knives upside down or horizontally in the dish basket. Do not wash cutlery with wooden or bone stems, glued pieces, or items not resistant to heat, as well as copper and tin-plated containers. Decorative prints of chinaware and aluminum and silver items may get discolored or tarnished after washing. Some delicate glass types and crystals may become dull over time; check if tableware is suitable for dishwasher use. Wipe away any coarse food remnants on the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. Place heavily soiled and bigger items in the lower basket for optimal washing performance.
- Page 21: Preparation Suggestions for loading the dishwasher Improper loading of dishware Lower basket Upper basket
- Page 22: Preparation Adjusting the height of the upper basket The basket adjustment mechanism allows you to create taller areas in the upper or lower section of the machine. To raise the basket, grab one of the upper basket wires and lift it up. Repeat the same process to lower the other side of the basket. Make sure that both sides of the loaded basket height adjustment mechanism are at the same level. To lower the basket, press the latch on the loaded basket adjustment mechanism to lower the basket.
- Page 23: Preparation Collapsible lower basket tines are designed for easier placement of large pieces such as pans and bowls. You can create larger spaces by folding each tine individually or all of them at once. Use the height adjustable racks in the upper basket by sliding them according to the heights of the glasses and cups. The cutlery basket is designed to wash dishes such as knives, forks, and spoons efficiently. To bring the collapsible tines into a horizontal position, grab the tines from the mid position and push them in the direction of the arrows. Collapsible tines will click into the latch again when lifted back to the vertical position. The cutlery basket can be moved to create more space in the lower basket for dishes of different sizes. Bringing the tines to the horizontal position by holding them from the tips may cause them to bend. It is appropriate to hold the tines from their stems when adjusting their position.
- Page 24: Operating the product Programme selection key is used to switch on/off the machine and select the washing programmes. Start/Stop key is used to start, pause or cancel the selected programme. Open the tap and plug in to the socket to start the machine. The machine will be switched on when you move the Programme Selection key to position “1”. Make sure that the upper and lower impellers rotate freely. Put sufficient amount of detergent in the detergent dispenser and close its lid. Check if the Salt and Rinse Aid indicators light and add salt and/or rinse aid if needed. Select the most suitable programme using the table of “Programme Data and Average Consumption Values”. Select Half Load when using any wash programme to save on water, electricity and time if the machine is only half full. Start the programme by pressing the Start/Stop key after waiting for two seconds.
- Page 25: Operating the product Dishwasher / User’s Manual
- Page 26: Operating the product Programme and auxiliary functions cannot be set or changed after the programme has started. With the Half Load function, you can save both water and power. Your machine performs water softening depending on the hardness level of the supply water. Half Load function may cause changes in the programme duration. To cancel a programme while the machine is operating, press the start/stop key for 3 seconds. The machine will drain the water inside for 45 seconds. Pay attention not to open the door of the machine when it is running. There may be a rush of vapour when you open the door of your machine; be careful. Please check the Salt Indicator on the panel to see whether there is an adequate amount of softening salt. You need to refill the rinse aid reservoir with rinse aid whenever the rinse aid warning indicator appears on the panel.
- Page 27: Operating the product End of programme When the programme you have selected comes to an end, the End progress indicator light will light up. Open the door of the dishwasher. Turn off your machine. Close the tap. Unplug the machine from the socket. Leave your dishes in the machine for about 15 minutes after they are washed in order to have them cooled down. Your dishes will dry in a shorter time if you leave the door of your machine ajar during this period. This will increase the drying effectiveness of your machine.
- Page 28: Maintenance and cleaning Cleaning the filters extends the service life of the product and reduces frequently faced problems if cleaned at regular intervals. Clean the filters at least once a week for efficient operation. Check for food residues on the filters and clean them under running water. Unplug the product and turn off the tap before cleaning. Do not use abrasive substances for cleaning. Clean the outer surface and door gaskets gently with a mild cleaning material and damp cloth. Wipe the control panel only with a damp cloth. Clean the interior of the machine and the tank by running a prewash program without detergent or a long washing program with detergent based on the degree of dirtiness. Drain any remaining water by following the procedures for cancelling a program. Clean any leftover deposits in the bottom of the machine that may block the water path.
- Page 29: Maintenance and cleaning Clean all three filters under tap water by means of a brush. Replace the metal/plastic filter. Clean the impellers at least once a week in order for the machine to operate efficiently. Place the coarse filter into the microfilter and ensure it is properly seated. Check if the holes on the lower impeller are clogged and clean if necessary. Do not use the dishwasher without a filter. Incorrect placement of the filters will reduce washing efficiency. Damages on the machine caused by impurities can be prevented by the filter attached to the water inlet hose. Check the filter and the hose regularly and clean them if necessary. Turn off the tap and remove the hose to clean the hose filter.
- Page 30: Maintenance and cleaning Check if the holes on the upper impeller are clogged. If they are clogged, remove and clean the impeller. Turn its nut to left to remove the upper impeller. Make sure that the nut is tightened well when installing the upper impeller.
- Page 31: Troubleshooting Machine does not start. - Check if the power cable is plugged in. - Check the fuses in your house. - Make sure that the water inlet tap is open. - Make sure that you have closed the door of the machine. - Make sure that you have turned on the machine by pressing the On / Off button. Dishes are not washed clean - Load the dishes as described in the user manual. - Select a programme with a higher temperature and cycle time. - Prior to starting the programme, turn the lower and upper impellers by hand to make sure that they rotate freely. - Clean the impellers regularly as illustrated in section “Cleaning and Care”. - Check if the filter system is clean. - Check the filter system and make sure that it is installed correctly. - Do not overload the baskets in excess of their capacity. - If you are using powder detergent, do not store the detergent package in humid places. - Adjust the amount of detergent according to the soiling degree of your dishes and/or programme definitions. - Check the rinse aid indicator and add rinse aid if necessary. Dishes are not dry at the end of cycle - Place your dishes in a way that no water will accumulate in them.
- Page 32: Troubleshooting Rinse aid is not sufficient. Check the rinse aid indicator and add rinse aid if necessary. Increase the rinse aid setting if there is enough amount of rinse aid in the machine. Machine is unloaded right after the programme is over. Do not unload your machine right after washing process is completed. Slightly open the door and wait for evacuation of the steam inside for a while. Selected programme is unsuitable. Since rinsing temperature is low at programmes with short duration, drying performance will also be low. Select programmes with longer duration for a higher drying performance. Surface quality of the kitchen utensils is deteriorated. Desired washing performance cannot be obtained on kitchen utensils with deteriorated surfaces and it is not suitable to use such utensils in terms of hygiene. It is normal that drying complaints can be experienced with Teflon kitchen utensils. Water droplets will remain as beads on the Teflon surface. Tea, cafe or lipstick stains remain on dishes. Select a programme with a higher temperature and cycle time. Detergent is stored under unsuitable conditions. If you are using powder detergent, do not store the detergent package in humid places. Lime traces remain on dishes and glassware gains a misty appearance. Check the rinse aid indicator and add rinse aid if necessary. Water hardness setting is low or salt level is insufficient. Measure the hardness of the supply water appropriately and check the water hardness setting. Salt leakage exists. Pay attention not to spill salt around the salt filling hole while adding salt.
- Page 33: Troubleshooting A new machine has a peculiar odour that will fade out after a couple of washes. Check if the filter system is clean and clean it regularly. If dirty dishes are kept in the dishwasher for 2-3 days, remove remnants and run the Prewash programme without detergent every 2 days. Salt leakage may cause deterioration and oxidation on metal surfaces. If cutlery soiled with salty foods is kept waiting, dirt must be removed by prewash or dishes must be washed immediately. Check if your machine is connected to the actual grounding line to avoid static electric issues. Intensive cleansers such as bleaches can damage the protective cover on metal surfaces. Using metal kitchen utensils for unintended purposes can damage their protective cover. Corrosion on low-quality stainless steel items is inevitable; they should not be washed in dishwashers. Corroded kitchen utensils can cause rust migration to other stainless steel surfaces.
- Page 34: Troubleshooting Detergent remains in detergent dispenser. Make sure that the detergent dispenser is dried well prior to filling it with detergent. Pay attention to add detergent shortly before start-up of the washing. Place the dishes in a way that will not prevent the detergent dispenser lid from opening. If you are using powder detergent, do not store the detergent package in humid places. Lower and upper impeller holes might be clogged with food remnants such as lemon pips. Decorated glasses and decorated lustre porcelains are not suitable for washing in the dishwasher. Kitchen utensils that contain or are made of aluminum should not be washed in the dishwasher. Pay attention not to spill salt around the salt filling hole while adding salt. When placing the glasses and other glassware into the basket, lean them against the edges or racks of the basket.
- Page 35: Troubleshooting A smear remains on glasses that resembles milk stain which cannot be removed when wiped by hand. A bluish/rainbow appearance occurs when the glass is pointed to light. Excessive rinse aid is used. Lower rinse aid setting. Clean the spilled rinse aid when adding rinse aid. Corrosion has occurred on glass due to soft water. Measure the hardness of the supply water appropriately and check the water hardness setting. If your supply water is soft (<5 dH), do not use salt. Foam forms in the machine. Dishes are washed with hand-wash detergent by hand but not rinsed before placing them into the machine. Rinse aid has spilled into the machine when adding rinse aid. Take care that rinse aid is not spilled in the machine when you are filling it. Lid of the rinse aid reservoir is left open. Make sure that the lid of the rinse aid reservoir is closed after adding rinse aid. Kitchen utensils are broken. Dishes are not placed orderly in the machine. Baskets are overloaded. Do not overload the baskets in excess of their capacity. Water remains in the dishwasher at the end of the programme. Filters are clogged. Check if the filter system is clean. If you cannot eliminate the problem although you follow the instructions in this section, consult your dealer or the Authorised Service Agent.
