Hotpoint HF9E 1B19 UK Slimline Dishwasher Overview
Summary of Contents
- Page 1: Thank you for buying a Hotpoint product. In order to receive more complete assistance, please register your appliance. Before using the appliance, carefully read the safety instruction. Product description includes various components such as the upper rack, lower rack, cutlery basket, and spray arms. The control panel features an on-off/reset button, program selection knob, and various indicator lights. The appliance includes a salt reservoir and detergent and rinse aid dispensers. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the control panel functions for optimal use. The rating plate provides important information about the appliance. Refer to the user manual for detailed information on each component and its function. Ensure to follow the instructions for proper maintenance and operation of the appliance.
- Page 2: First time use Advice regarding the first time use Rinse aid makes dish drying easier. It is mandatory that the salt reservoir never be empty. The use of salt prevents the formation of limescale on the dishes and on the machine’s functional components. It is important to set the water hardness. Never pour the rinse aid directly into the appliance tub. To allow the water softener to work perfectly, the water hardness setting must be based on the actual water hardness in your house. Only use salt that has been specifically designed for dishwashers. The detergent dispenser automatically opens up at the right time according to the program.
- Page 3: Programs table outlines the duration, water consumption, and energy consumption for various wash programs. Eco program is the most efficient for normally soiled tableware and complies with EU Ecodesign legislation. Intensive program is recommended for heavily soiled crockery, especially pans and saucepans. Mixed program is suitable for normally soiled dishes with dried food residues. Delicates program is designed for sensitive items like glasses and cups. Rapid 30’ program is for half load of lightly-soiled dishes and does not include a drying phase. Half Load program is ideal for washing a half load of lightly or normally soiled crockery. Soak program is used to refresh crockery planned to be washed later without detergent. Pre-treatment of dishes is not needed before any of the programs. Values for programs other than Eco are indicative and may vary based on several factors.
- Page 4: Options can be selected directly by pressing the corresponding button. If an option is not compatible with the selected program, the corresponding LED flashes rapidly 3 times. It is possible to delay the start time of the program by 2, 4, or 8 hours. This setting allows you to optimize the performance of the program according to the type of detergent used. Press the TABLET button if you use combined detergents in tablet form. After selecting the desired program and any other options, press the DELAY button. Select the desired delay time by pressing the DELAY button repeatedly. The countdown will begin if the START/PAUSE button is pressed. To stop and cancel the active cycle, the Drain Out function can be used. A long press of the START/PAUSE button will activate the DRAIN OUT function.
- Page 5: Loading the racks involves placing delicate and light dishes in the upper rack and larger items in the lower rack. The upper rack is adjustable in height to accommodate bulky crockery or to maximize space for tip-up compartments. The cutlery basket should be positioned at the front of the lower rack and is designed with top grids for better cutlery arrangement. It is recommended not to adjust the height of the upper rack when it is loaded, and adjustments should be made evenly on both sides. Knives and sharp utensils must be placed in the cutlery basket with points facing down or horizontally in the tip-up compartments. The side foldable flaps can be adjusted to optimize crockery arrangement within the rack. Wine glasses can be safely placed in the foldable flaps by inserting the stem into the corresponding slots. To unfold the flaps, slide them up and rotate or release from the snaps. To fold the flaps, rotate and slide them down or pull them up to attach to the snaps.
- Page 6: Daily use The machine will switch off automatically during certain extended periods of inactivity to minimize electricity consumption. If the crockery is only lightly soiled or rinsed with water before being placed in the dishwasher, reduce the amount of detergent used accordingly. Check that the dishwasher is connected to the water supply and that the tap is open. Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the dishwasher. Select the most appropriate program according to the type of crockery and its soiling level. Without switching off the machine, open the door and place the crockery inside the dishwasher. The end of the wash cycle is indicated by the ON/OFF LED lit. If the door is opened during the wash cycle, the cycle stops and can be resumed by pressing the START/Pause button. Before loading the baskets, remove all food residues from the crockery and empty the glasses. Only use glasses and porcelain guaranteed by the manufacturer as dishwasher safe.
- Page 7: Care and maintenance Cleaning the filter assembly Regularly clean the filter assembly to prevent clogging and ensure proper wastewater flow. The filter assembly consists of three filters that remove food residues from the washing water. The dishwasher must not be used without filters or if the filter is loose. Check the filter assembly at least once per month or after each 30 cycles. Inspect the trap and remove any food residues. Water softening system The water softener reduces water hardness and prevents scale buildup on the heater. Regeneration of the water softener occurs once per five Eco cycles. Single regeneration consumes approximately 3.5 liters of water and takes up to five additional minutes for the cycle. Cleaning the water inlet hose is essential to prevent blockage and damage to the dishwasher.
- Page 8: Troubleshooting In case your dishwasher doesn’t work properly, check if the problem can be solved by going through the following list. For other errors or issues please contact authorized After-sales Service. Spare parts will be available for a period of either up to 7 or up to 10 years. Salt indicator is lit; salt reservoir is empty. Rinse aid indicator is lit; rinse aid dispenser is empty. The dishwasher won’t start or does not respond to commands; check if the door is closed. The dishwasher won’t drain; the sink drain pipe is blocked. The dishwasher makes excessive noise; the dishes are rattling against each other. The dishes are not clean; the filter is soiled or clogged. The dishwasher does not fill the water; make sure there is water in the supply. Dishwasher finishes the cycle prematurely; check water supply for leaks.
