3.5. PREPARING THE APPLIANCE FOR USE
3.5.1. SETTING THE WATER HARDNESS
1NOTICE!
RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE APPLIANCE. Make sure you always set the water softening level to the water hardness in your
area. An incorrectly set water softening level in combination with dishwasher salt can cause internal damage to the appliance.
The appliance has a water softener that needs to be set to the water hardness in your region.
The local water management company can advise you, if necessary, on the precise water hardness in your region.
The factory setting is set by default to water softener level H3.
If the water hardness is set incorrectly, the dishes will not be clean.
1. Close the door.
2. Press the on/off button to turn on the appliance.
3. Press and hold the 90-minute programme button for 5 seconds.
The display shows the water hardness setting menu.
The dishwasher salt LED will flash.
4. Press the 90-minute programme button repeatedly to set the water hardness.
5. Wait five seconds to confirm your choice. The display returns to the default view.

3.5.2. SET THE AMOUNT OF RINSE AID
1. Close the door.
2. Press the on/off button to turn on the appliance.
3. Press and hold the automatic programme button for 5 seconds.
4. Press the delay button.
The display shows the rinse aid setting menu.
The rinse aid LED will flash.
5. Press the automatic programme button repeatedly to set the amount of rinse aid.
6. Wait five seconds to confirm your choice. The display returns to the default view.
The higher the number, the more rinse aid the appliance uses.
Reduce the number if stains or streaks remain on the tableware. Increase the number if the tableware does not come out of the
appliance completely dry.
